My soon to be daughter in law has a silver car with hail dents. She names everything. It's name is Maxwell. She is in her mid-20s and is a complete Beatles fan.

I would like a green Thunderbird. The next refin will be green. I haven't decided what green. Chevrolet Rallye Green is at the top of the list at the moment.

The bassist in The Midnight Devils has been known to play some flashy colored Thunderbirds. His most recent seems to be a green VP.

First look, 1966 Gibson Thunderbird II restored by my dear friend Bill Walance who passed on about 6 years ago. The bass came to Bill as a stripped carcasse with the neck busted off around the 3rd fret. Bill did a beautiful job restoring the bass, he was so excited about it, we talked at length about how to approach the restoration. I recently acquired the bass from Bill's widow. Bill was a dear friend fellow luthier, tinkerer and bass obsessed, we got on like Mutt and Jeff. Bill was a very nice man and I enjoyed watching his projects at the Dude Pit and LBO. I am glad that you ended up with this bass. Nice to see his spirit live on.

McCartney is the reason I play bass.

I'm fairly young, by wtvr standard that is, however, being around music since i was born (my dad being the musician with all his classic vinyls such as Bowie, T-Rex, Cheap Trick, etc), & even though i first saw the 1974-75 san Francisco KISS live show (on tv) when i was 3-4 years old, when i say Dee Dee Ramone play (through DVD documentary) when i was 6-7, that's who got me into diving into playing bass (& subsequently playing Precisions). His sheer energy was something to behold. After many years of practice from their first album to the Live shows, my wrist has gotten used to the fast downpicking without breaking a sweat or needing to stop after 4 live songs. I'm a punk; in roots, style & music. Other bassists have had some influence on my writing & playing too, but Dee Dee got me into actively playing bass.

In my PU experiments I was noticing a little more definition by lowering either PU. The bridge all the way down as well as the neck about 5 turns. The neck being lowered wasn't surprising, but lowering the bridge was a little unexpected in bringing out some definition. I will note that just using the bridge PU doesn't bring out as much midrange as doing that with other Thunderbirds (the 06 being the exception) or G&Ls for that matter.

I always loved dogs but Mona is the 1st dog I've ever been a guardian of. (same with Beth) She a was our Covid gift.

A pic taken on the drive home in May '20 (from Monterey CA) when we picked her up from the SPCA there. She seemed happy, but confused - she's a smart dog. (6ys old at the time) We had a friend who was a vet there who let us be the first to see her after she came in. Anyone seeing her 1st would have accepter her - it was a bit of fate.

I've heard those are really nice sounding, I can't justify paying the money for one at least right now as I'm doing all small gigs here with virtually no PA support. It does sound good but I would imagine the RedDI sounds better.

I only knew of "The Sun Ain't Gonna Shine Anymore" by the Walker Brothers and back when it was new I thought it was the Righteous Brothers. I heard a eulogy on NPR when he died 3 yrs ago March 25th and dived head-first into his decades long career. He's since become my favorite musical artist.

Where did people see these videos back in the day? I mean, there were movies (The Beatles) and TV shows (The Monkees) but where would one have seen this?

Glenn Cornick of Jethro Tull also played several Gibson Thunderbird basses in both reverse and non reverse bodies, but some of them were stolen while on tour in 1970.

Ian Anderson also owned a Gibson Thunderbird bass that he used on the song Jack In The Green from Songs From The Wood, and on the Stormwatch album. I believe John Glascock owned a Gibson Thunderbird too, or maybe it was rented or borrowed.

I think the more recent variations of The Joker based a lot of facial expressions and movement off Mr. Anderson. No, not that Mr. Anderson. This one.

The WB's being US expatriates in the UK, I'm pretty sure clips like this were on British TV. (BBC) I have a friend who spent his art school "Jr year abroad" in the UK in 1974. He talked about seeing something there very similar to what became MTV in the US long before it aired here. Think about Ed Sullivan, The Smothers Brothers, Where the Action Is, Hullabaloo and (UK) Ready Steady Go. Also consider the Beatles making a"vid" (movie) of Strawberry Fields Forever"... these were all pre-MTV.
