I suspect a great deal of that is because the names are dumb or at least don't lend themselves to an obvious image, or one that people would like.

Like Ford Focus(?), Dodge Charger(football player?), Subaru Outback(Crocodile Dundee or Bloomin' Onion), Jeep Cherokee(politically incorrect),Ford Mustang(oh...wait), Lincoln Navigator(Christopher Columbus?), Hyundai Santa Fe(train or map of city), Aston-Martin(pic of Connery?).

Years ago I was jamming with some guys in a cellar and found an abandoned portaflex head with 7027A power tubes, (forgot the model, may have been a B-18 head but I don't think it was) but whoever bought it new had had the name Bob engraved into the plastic Ampeg insignia because Ampeg would do that for you way back when. They gave it to me and I took it home and it worked well, no hum or anything, I stupidly sold it later on though. But how often do you have an amp with your name on it? .

I've always liked that year Barracuda, '67-68?. A friend's older sister had a '64 273 hipo, 4 speed when I was a kid, the thing moved.

I've always liked that year Barracuda, '67-68?. A friend's older sister had a '64 273 hipo, 4 speed when I was a kid, the thing moved.
