Thunderbird Club

The Hornet stunt was bad enough (car selection, loud mouth fat belly cop, sliding whistle sound effect, dialogue) but then they topped it off with the Villain escaping in an AMC Matador that ducked into a barn where it transformed into a Jet airplane.

Christopher Lee as the villain and Tattoo as his sidekick? Can't complain about that!

My favorite name that makes no sense: Dodge Ram. Plus the ram head that looks like a uterus diagram. And then they had the Big Horn Edition, with the uterus diagram after Horn, which turned it into Big Horny Edition. I can't find a picture of it, but I know it existed because a guy I worked with had one. He never understood what I thought was so funny about his truck.

Either somebody had a really perverse sense of humor at Chrysler that day, or the suits making decisions were oblivious. Or both.
Never going to be able to see one again and not think of anatomy.

We had neighbor who dated a guy who had Big Horny on his Uterine carriage as well. He was crude and figured he bought and added it himself.

Oooooooooo... Two tone beige with a vinyl roof... How 70s.
I will be looking at a Gibson SG tomorrow. Guitar, not bass. I really like the way yours looks.

If I buy that guitar, the VP will go on CL. $550 locally ought to work with one finish ding and no case. But that remains to be seen. I am just not bonding with it at all.
If not sold by July…GTG…

speaking of turds... unsee this -

I didn't mind the cars, but that color combo just ruined the whole thing for me. A cousin had a '80-81 Cordoba that had an almost as horrible paint scheme. Chrysler used to hire drunk monkeys in the 60s-70s to pick out some of the upholstery patterns and paint. Apparently they did some moonlighting for AMC.

Waiting for it to come out on 8-track. Love to hear those clicks in the middle of songs. :smug:

Cassettes can sound good if you have a good cassette deck. Mine sounds good. A buddy of mine had an 8 track player in the aforementioned VW bus and Iron Butterfly always changed in the middle of In-a-gadda-da-vida.

Like Ford Focus(?), Dodge Charger(football player?), Subaru Outback(Crocodile Dundee or Bloomin' Onion), Jeep Cherokee(politically incorrect),Ford Mustang(oh...wait), Lincoln Navigator(Christopher Columbus?), Hyundai Santa Fe(train or map of city), Aston-Martin(pic of Connery?).

Ford Escape, Edge, Expedition.
Cadillac Esplanade.
Audi E-tron.
Honda CRX.
Nissan Leaf, Altima.
Etc.

I like the Gremlin. So unique. The Pacer gets a "participation" trophy for showing up.
I didn’t find the Gremlin ugly, just different. At the time there weren’t too many cars with that shape, a few years later every manufacturer had something Gremlin shaped (VW Rabbit, Plymouth Horizon, Ford Pinto, Chevy Chevette…).
The pacer on the other hand always reminded me of a Bubblegum machine on wheels.

interesting, beauty’s in the eye of the beholder i guess, I really (with the exception of Gremlin and Pacer) like Dick Teague’s designs….

I agree - if looking only/specifically at someones design style/approach - yes, it's cool. It's just that car... I mean, it's so, er.., different - it's sorta cool, I guess... (and I like quirky) It would grab my attention if it drove by... I don't hate it...

Strange, to my knowledge there were no white ones done as standard production, nor any gold hardware - bad mis-match with the tuners. Not 35" scale either.

yep, had to determine if a scam-artist or just another over-anxious entrepreneur - wrong or misinformed on a few levels
