Thunderbird Club

Another thing is they also changed the wiring, pre-1972 EB-3's have the choke in the circuit with both pickups selected (pos 3), taking all the bottom out of the bass which never made any sense to me, with the post-1972's the choke is only in pos 4 and is the neck humbucker, you can solo it with the choke or without in pos 1. I always unhook the choke in mine as they all 1970 or older.

I'll take the one on the left, please.
I’m with V, the one on the left!!!
Truth be told, my favorite shaped Gibson body. I wish I could afford a custom made EB-J3, (Jeff 3)
With pick up placement like an original TBird IV.

Apples and Oranges as far as pups and wiring and body woods and… pretty much everything.
But having played a 1960’s and several 1970’s and numerous current models, I’ll take one of these every time…

2007 Gibson SG Supreme, mahogany body with thick maple cap and short scale, my number one non bird players.

@wolfkeller Some Thunderbird EMG stuff here.

Thanks that was great. I wanted to slap him about all the neck dive poopie he kept going on about. Is that wrong ???

I went to his other emg comparison and was disappointed was no TB HZ’s. They were the ones that I want to hear compared to all the others.
I’m not looking to change pups but I like to stash little info snippets away in my head just in case
