Keef's "Life"? I thought that was a great book, I felt like I knew him after reading it. I had a general idea on how it might be anyway because he's such an engaging person. If I had to meet any huge star in this world I would want it to be him, I'm not starstruck and think meeting most of them would be boring and uncomfortable for me but Keith looks like he'd be cool to hang out with, never mind doing a few Chuck Berry tunes. :D
I've read a lot of rock & roll books and have read my share of druggy rock & roll books but do get sick of them. Keef's was probably the best autobiography of any rock star I've read, he seems like he'd be just a normal person in real life.
Agree to disagree. I read it and found the book engaging. But i think he is probably really tedious to deal with. He is quite volatile and unpredictable.

Living legend to meet? I would love to have a cuppa with Jeff Beck.

We think opposite, I've always suspected that Nigel Tufnel was based on Beck . I'm sure you've seen Hail! Hail! rock & Roll? It seems to have taken a lot of patience for him to deal with Chuck. I read a book about the making of the Doc and he was supposedly a real piece of work to deal with.

Well you can't have mine:

I have one of those too. Oldsmobile version though. All of the olds came without wood paneling.

Nigel Tufnel IS Jeff Beck!

I have heard stories of JB being angry when things aren't working in the studio. But, there was a documentary on JB I saw a couple of years back. You see him working on his cars, jamming with young musicians, and drinking tea. He seems very normal. And he has a wicked sense of humour - his quip about Rod Stewart "We have a love hate relationship. He loves me and I hate him..."

I've tried tube preamps and they're all too farty for me. I am absolutely thrilled with my GK 800RB preamp I had Master Effects make me. When I can use it, that is. I mostly play the B-15 these days because it's what's at the practice space. Of course I run my always-on Damnation MBD2 into it.

What do you mean here "when I can use it"?

1992. I think they only made the olds for 91 and 92.

Mine only has the 305 though. Lt1 would be nice, but it's a nice smooth cruiser as it is, and does pretty good on gas considering its size.

I love Oldsmobiles, had a few in my time. My father had a '61 Olds Fiesta wagon with a 394 when i was a kid.
Mine's not too bad on gas either on the highway. I've gotten over 20 mpg on trips but I usually average between 70 and 80 mph, and will get 16-18 around town driving normally (lead foot), actually it's only bad if you start racing from light to light, then it sucks it down like it's going out of style.

It becomes a two way street but the addict/alcoholic is almost always the catalyst, but people do attract each other for a reason, people without pathologies themselves will usually leave a situation like that. People that become addicted to people who are addicted often come from homes where it was rampant and have enabling baked into their personality.

There was a big business component. Black Sabbath were managed by Sharon’s Dad who was a shonk of the highest order (reportedly, allegedly). Shazza made a play for Ozzie and left Dads company and took over Ozzie’s management as well.

Hello All. I haven't been able to follow for a while. On the 21st While working on finishing my Storage building Roofing I Slid Off and Fell about 9ft. When Landing I Dislocated my Right Wrist along with a Fracture. Free ride to the Hospital. They also did a Covid Test which came back Positive. Been a rough few days but am feeling a bit better today. I have Surgery Scheduled for Tomorrow. Plates and screws. Follow up for one plate removal at a later date. I look forward to hearing about the get together at Chuck's.

That's a risk when using a dirt pedal designed for guitar. A lot will suck out the low end. The key for bass is having a blend knob, to blend in your clean signal. Or use one that's specifically designed for bass. But to each their own.

As you know, Damnation Audio makes a great and versatile bass distortion. More people should try it. EDIT***Now that I am caught up, I see that you have been preaching the Damnation gospel!!

Dude, you win that one. I was feeling bad about tearing a calf muscle stretching a single into a double.

Good luck with the surgery.
