Great question!
Just thinking out loud here…
- the Tbird Holy Grail for most would be a 1960’s Reverse but those run well north of $5000 to as much as three or four times that depending on condition and rarity. Getting harder to find a reasonable deal on.

tell that to my Rick&Barkers....

the SG in question….

Before

After

Please leave it alone! It’s beautiful.

Only significant difference compared to my IV and CP is open vs closed gears.

personally I recommend the 2015. There are also some studio versions from Gibson that pop up with set necks.

if you go import the upper end epiphone is Frankly very good and a deal and schecter offers the ‘ultra’ bass which is a thinly veiled thunderbird and it was the best budget bass I’ve ever owned $750 though at the time.

that was before epiphone got a revamp. But I’d ask for 25% off one of those two and feel pretty good about it.
The ‘15 should prove to be very collectible in the future. I hope.

Here's the deal, go in and start asking in an excited voice if you all can give someone the death penalty. Or if on a case. whisper loudly "He sure looks guilty to me." The judge may not be impressed and may threaten to fine you. At which point you ask if you could just have jail time until your time is up. Guaranteed you won't be seated.

(Maybe not everything here is the best advice.)
Wouldn't it be easier to just deny the court's authority over you because you are sovereign citizen and thus only subject to maritime law?

A relaxing (unplugged) weekend away and suddenly 500+ posts behind...

I pulled the trigger on a Blackbird a little while ago for the following reasons:
1. It’s a Gibson
2. As they say on”Wall Street”, it’s an investment, not a trade. Just how many of these do you figure they will make next year? None!
3.If it’s good enough for Nikki, it’s good enough for me.
4. I don’t own any of the Signature Gibson stuff, although I have stuff like an ES 359, 07,57RI, triples with the Bigsby. Oh be still my beating heart!
5.I’m a Virgo with OCD, need I say more.
6. Sorry, Can’t do the “Moo-Cow” Paint job thing.
7. No matter what they say about you guys, you’re cool in my book, Lol!
Time to celebrate, kick Amp’s. Take names, and talk trash! It’s 5 o’clock somewhere, If you’re drinking, I am buying, let’s close out the Bar tonight! Yippee!
Congratulations! More than a bit envious here.

Congrats on the purchase. I’ve never actually played a Black Bird. Looking forward to seeing it and hearing your thoughts on it. The Gibson blackbirds are fairly hard to come by, so you have a real gem there.

Aren't ESP's horribly overpriced? All ESP's I've seen have been horribly overpriced.

My Japan Market GrassRoots Bass IV was very reasonable, but GrassRoots is ESP's more affordable line. I upgraded a few things but considering what a good sounding/playing/looking bass it is - it was worth it in the end.
