I've never managed to find a Scotch that I could say "that's the one", I suspect it harks back to getting very very drunk on Bells back in my youth. I tend to stick to wine mostly, occasionally a gin and tonic or a Southern Comfort which I have always had a taste for bizarrely
I have two favorites when it comes to Single Malts:
- Lagavulin (the regular one) just a very good single malt, the definite Islay malt imho.
- Laphroaig Quarter Cask. A lot nicer tasting than the infamous 10 year old standard Laphroaig. I like the original one very much for its initial punch, like tasting an old medicine stash filled with smoked bacon. After that it tastes like a salty sea rope that was in the water for ages, finishing off with a hint of an old ferry diesel.
now that I've written this I am not too sure if it's a good idea to drink this
But it IS quite an experience...
but of course ENJOY and Happy Holidays to all!
