Yep.B-B-B-Benny and the Jets. 2 bars and I change the channel.![]()
An Elton fan for the most part.
It's probably one of the first Elton songs I ever heard (knowingly).
I was probably only about 11 or 12 yo and a friend of Dads put Don't Shoot Me album in one side of a C90 cassette, (and Red Rose Speedway on the other side) for me.
I played the snot out of that cassette!
I only drink porters/stouts. This is the best tasting porter I've ever had. Many "flavored" beers have a hint of the flavor. This is a great porter on its own with all the other flavors totally recognizable. That actually doesn't sound half bad.
You stopped at "beer."That actually doesn't sound half bad.
Saw that in 76…
One of my girlfriends was a big Elton John fan and I ended up really liking this tune, it wasn't the first that I had heard, I think that was Tiny Dancer which she also loved, I thought ehhh, but this song I thought was really good.

Freshman year…should have called it puke-o-matic.I can't stop laughing. I don't recall that from back in the day, but SNL was a dorm ritual back then.
McCartney was once quoted as saying he wished he'd written Your Song. We laughed and figured he dropped a bad tab of acid.

No such discussions are allowed, IIRC.Gas powered pellet guns are pretty silent….
Hops were supposed to be a preservative, not the dominant flavor. Now, oatmeal stout is one combo that can't be beat. The oatmeal mellows the bitter from the dark roasted malt and adds a smooth texture to the tongue. Tops on my home brew list.I'm a bit boring. I like plain stuff, so if you offer me a beer with added coffee or chocolate or whatever, I'd probably prefer the original beer.
I guess I like stuff that tastes authentic to itself. This is "whatever" but it tastes like "whatever else" leaves me a bit cold.
Exceptions of course, chocolate, strawberry or vanilla flavoured ice cream or milk shakes.
But not coffee flavoured yet I drink coffee…
and I can't stand vanilla flavoured Coke yuck! or even "vanilla tones" in a wine - that gives me a slimy mouth feeling which I hate.
Beers, I like the no preservatives, no additives (I can't handle much added sulphite as a preservative - allergic) commercial beers (mostly) but haven't really found 'craft beers' that I'm crazy about. Hate IPAs - they border on undrinkable.
I know, I'm an odd duck.
(But there is plenty I do like so I'm not in danger of starving or dying of thirst.)
Keith Moon but he doesn't return my calls. He probably did. He played with anybody and everybody. He's such a great guy. Beloved in the industry. And in my book, one of the best, most versatile drummers in history. He may not be as technically proficient as a Gene Krupa, Bruford, or Baker. But who else than Ringo would you want to lock in and grove with?
My biggest problem with school was often boredom. I was reading at a 4th grade level when I started 1st grade, and could do the four basic math operations. My teachers typically had no idea what to do with me. There were a couple of awesome exceptions. In 1976, I failed 6th grade. Instead of doing homework, I would listen to SGT PEPPER, which I had found a copy of, on headphones while pretending to do homework.
I had heard most of the songs on radio, but this was the first full album for me.
Failing school was actually sheer boredom. We moved to the country when I started 5th grade. What I had learned in 3rd in the city was what we were being taught in 5th.
That Elton version is fantastic, and I loved it at the time.
Ditto.I was in the third grade when Kennedy got killed, I still remember the announcement over the loudspeaker, I saw Jack Ruby shoot Oswald live on TV.
