Thunderbird Club

Here's a question for all of the new non reverse owners.
How much are these weighing in at?

That sparkling burgundy NR is gassing me pretty hard…(Damn enabling TB club)
My PB '21 is about 8 lbs. 4-5 ounces. It is a little heavier then my '15 reverse which is a little under 8 pounds. Buy through Sweetwater; work with your rep to make sure you get a lighter one. I've seen some listed at more than 9 pounds. A quick check of the website this morning shows them waiting on more burgundies. There's a blue one at over 9 pounds.

They're wonderful basses. Mine is a dream to play. Ask @GBassNorth; he played it Monday.

Well, I sold my 2014 ETBIV, and turned it into a PJ which was needed for the new band. Never fear, I still have the Not-Really-a-Goth.

Do you like 90s era Offspring style punk and Nirvana style grunge? The new band is Bite the Zombie. Here's two minutes to give you a taste of what we're up to.

I'm in.

I like it Haj. Can't say I've heard punk Rodgers and Hammerstein before. It works. And Over the Rainbow. I'd like to hear the full track of Standards of Everyone. Congratulations on the new band!

I completely, wholeheartedly, adamantly and positively agree! Marshall got a winner with his NR. Some might say it plays like butter, but since I've never played butter I can't comment on that. However, I will say it easily played in the top 10% of my basses (and that's some rare territory). If you're on the fence, just get one. They don't seem to be getting any cheaper.

Good to know. Now what about pollution over the life of the vehicle (and how does that change as electricity gets (hopefully) greener? And what pollutants?
As my brother who was a designer for Volvo for over 30 years says, and he has a Tesla and the little Fiat, the truth about EVs is that they don't make sense unless you have home solar with a battery.

I'm going to take a swing at Sweetwater as an FYI. If you buy from them don't use their credit card, use one from your bank, etc. I had one of their cards and they are just a private label card run by Synchrony Bank. Synchrony got hacked and I've ended up with a month now of chasing down crooks that keep trying to open new credit lines with BofA, Capital One, Chase...I know it was Synchrony as they also handle PayPal Credit. When I checked my accounts at Sweetwater and PayPal Credit, both had address changes. Couldn't have gotten into my PayPal Credit account directly as I have multi factor authentication that requires access to my cell phone.

After several refins the headstock thickness on my recently acquired Nonreverse has been reduced by just about 1/8" on the headstock face. I have been experimenting with different cap material mahogany, maple, and aircraft plywood. In the end mahogany won out. Here's today's progress.

Volvo did an interesting comparison...

I saw that report but from a different source. See Stealth's good article 23k some odd pages ago. The upside is that the emissions of Thunderbirds are always welcome and an enhancement to any environment. Offsets the emissions of those twangy guitars.
