"Haw-yeah!! I got a new 'Bird!!"Happy new year everyone, may it be the best yet and the beginning of of a good few more.
May we all experience the three "H"s happiness, health and you can make up the third one
No proof!"Haw-yeah!! I got a new 'Bird!!"
No, it's just a thing to say that starts with "H"! I'm back to being poor for a while...No proof!
Yep, 5mm. Too big.Do you have a slightly larger that might fit?
Where's your Imperial sized set? Bumpers use a 3/16"!Yep, 5mm. Too big.![]()
I'm only a newbie hobbyistWhere's your Imperial sized set? Bumpers use a 3/16"!
I have an EB and a 2015 Bird. They are very different animals in spite of being the same electronically. I like them both for different reasons.I have both the EB3 (SG) and the EB2013. Either is a great addition to the TBird line up. In fact you could get the 2015 TBird which has the EB2013 electronics and kill two birds with one stone.
Well they start off that way!I'm only a newbie hobbyist
So far!
(And Epi's are metric)

How would you characterize the difference?I have an EB and a 2015 Bird. They are very different animals in spite of being the same electronically. I like them both for different reasons.
@mrb327, I noticed that most of the big e-commerce music sites are now out of the opal 7ender Jazz. Thus, it appears that the "special edition" was actually "special." I wouldn't be surprised to see them do other runs like this, with the matching headcap, whether in white or other colors.Really like the neck. Pups are decent. Of course the color and painted headstock are sexy
Trying to get those tubes to break in a little more in the head. Not enough gain yet
Some pedals just eat batteries really fast. That seems like about the same amount of playing time I had on my old Digiverb pedal when I still used batteries for pedals.Happy New Year, all.
Question - got my 1st fx pedal (TC Corona). I am going through new 9v batteries quick - estimate them lasting about 12 hours despite unplugging it when not in use.
Is it normal for pedal batteries to go this quick? I am getting a power supply so the battery issue is moot. My concern is that there is something wrong with the pedal.
Thx.
On GKs I dime the gain and adjust the boost to taste. I always turn the horn all the way off, because I don't play their cabs and I don't even own a cab with tweeters (absolutely despise them in bass cabs). Any contour knobs or buttons off, as those seem to generally be mid-scooping tone sucks.I posted this in the "GK Club Rules!" club (lol, of course it's arguably close, but... ha ha), posting it here too 'cause I know that Her Grace, and many of the rest of us 'Birders use GK amperage. Any thoughts? Thanks for your time!
1001RB-II question here, concerning gain structure.
I have found that the 1001RB-II head is so loud it's got me sitting down, dumbfounded on how to get it together to get what I think I want out of it. The set up is this:
Epiphone Blackbird, modded w/volume pots>
1001RB-II>
Neutrik plug equipped cable, enabling Bi-Amp mode>
GK NEO212-II cab.
Gain structure has me willied. In such a situation, how do you set yours? Volume, Boost, and woofer/Horn volumes present more obstacles than possibilities at this point, and if I can get by that, I can navigate my way to some happy place, I think. But so far, any "reasonable use" of these deafening sonic booby-traps has got me stymied and feckless. Any help will be recieved gratefully, thanks!

Yes, they did a run of MIMs in a white color and termed it "opal". The headstock is painted in the same color and it has a white pearloid pickguard. I will stop writing about it now before the "7ender flame throwers" come out.Opal?
Ah, not a fan of pearloid pickguards, but it does sound nice looking.Yes, they did a run of MIMs in a white color and termed it "opal". My drummer's GK (it was either a 400 or 800RB) I found a bit more user-friendly than my other friend's 1001RB. Honestly didn't sound that different from my Mesa D-180, despite being solid state rather than tube. If I was going to get a newer solid state amp, it would probably be a GK.
Opal?
