Thunderbird Club

Izzat canadian rocker Kim Mitchell to his right ?

Yes indeed, the pic is from Max Webster gig. Definitely in my top 10 fav bands. They manage to tick all the right boxes: progressive, weird, funny, pop, rocking, no compromises. Like Zappa, Cheap Trick, The Sensational Alex Harvey Band and The Tubes rolled into one and sounding still themselves.

I thought I only ordered one of those pickups but got two (a neck and bridge versions, so they must be for Epiphone Rumblekat? Gold plated too)

So the neck pickup went into my Doug Rauch Signature Jazz Bass*, fits under the mudbucker cover just right. I was never too happy with the Model One I had there previously and the Artec mudbucker clone was worse. The minihumbucker sounds more like a Ric neck pickup and seems to blend well with the powerful Dimarzio DP126 J-pickups. We'll see...

*not official. If they made one (they should!) it would be black, have a mudbucker/P/J -combination, more switches, an instant phaser etc.

You wouldn't need it with a Major, they're a very loud 200 watts. A Marshall lead amp in comparison with a Marshall bass amp sounds thinner with a bass, it's the way the preamps are designed.
I have both a Major and Super Lead. The Super Lead makes a perfectly acceptable bass amp.

What would be an affordable alternative to Hiwatt amps? Do any of you know? I mean a solid state combo, not heads.
I have a Fender Rumble 800 Stage that comes with some pretty great amp models. It's "brit watt" model is pretty darn good.

Different looking N.R. in this video. He could really play that thing too.

I saw him a vid with that guitar. Man could that dude play! He's got a more complete catalog of historically important music than most performers I've seen.

He was an incredibly good player. Shame he wasn't better known.

Hell yeah. The man is an overlooked badass. How could you see and hear him, and then wail and pine about Stevie Ray Vaughan, pretending this guy never occurred to you?

You know, it's funny, I've heard his name for years but never checked him out until last night. I ended up watching at least ten videos, mostly live, the guy was a monster player, he was just as good on harp and fiddle, was a drummer, sang, he played jazz, blues, country, I was amazed. I think I confused him with Eddie 'Cleanhead' Vinson, thought he was another Tenor player.

Everyone solos in this one and check out the bass solo it's unbelievable

I had an early 70's orange super Lead at one time, another stupid sale. That does sound good. Mine was modded too, probably the same as yours. Been a long time though. The Major I have now with the limited amount of time I've been able to spend with it sounds a lot like your Super Lead.

I like it.......That headstock would take some getting used to though.

Yah, it's mandolin-esque. A lot of polish and Armor-All went in to presenting that bass & case for the photo-shoot! Very interesting bridge w/roller saddles and attached string-stop but the strings are way off the fb and being a set-neck there appears to be limited space to drop the bridge lower. Sophisticated electronics also.
