With all the FSO talk of late I used this the other day. I have some Roto 66 NPS and this Pbass mat have never sounded so good. I was seriously digging what I was hearing.

omg, it’s gorgeous…what year? maple fb (Roger Waters) on those looked really good as well…. you sure got some winners D…

Those are the things I'm curious about - I think it could be a combo of different? internal pre-amp and the stainless covers.......unfortunately, I don't currently have a set of EMG standard J pickups to compare against :(

If I run my Ibanez with the RTs eq-flat, through the standard, non-pad input on my amps, it sounds pretty nice & clean, even with a pick, if I don't get too aggro with it.
But, boost the bass, just about the equivalent of one, maybe 1 1/2, knob-mark, and it adds in a lovely amount of grit to go with the added bottom end. Love it! :)
I have a vintage one (80?) that I had installed on my Gretsch at Las Olas Music (where Jaco used to repair woodwinds in the 70’s) brand new, I recently (5 years ago) had it taken off to have 2 Bartolini soapbars installed…..PM me if you want to borrow or buy or whatever, it’s has some string (rounds) scoring but otherwise works perfect…..

Good work usually is, at the time that was more than I paid for the bass, it's worth much more now. Working with Mike was always fun, he was just very genuine, a nice guy and a talented luthier, I spent many thousands of dollars at his shop and always got quality work, he could take a bass and set it up so sweet........ I miss him a great deal.
You're speaking in past tense, does that mean that Mike died?

wonder how much a refin of that caliber (if available) would cost in Spain…
DISREGARD MY POST BEFORE THIS ONE, I made a mistake converting the coins. Probably more than you think, for example 6000$ would be around 6000€ which would be around a million of Spain old coin: the Pesetas. For reference 1 Euro is around 166,38 pesetas.

Thanks Chuck. It's an '05. Not much love for that era that had the S1 switch. Push the center of the vol and it changes the wiring from series or parallel mode, thicker and bigger to less bass and more bright, would be how I would describe it. I don't use it very often, but have on occasion. Most love to hate them. I don't get it. Just leave it alone and it sounds like a typical thick Pbass.

Kind of a sentimental bass. I hadn't been playing for years and I loaned my '78 Pbass with an "A" neck and DiMarzios to a guy at church. (It was my main gigging bass and sounded and played fantastic.) The church was broken into and that bass was stolen. It was good in that it got me interested in playing again after looking into info for insurance. I got a G&L L2k blue burst with the insurance money. Months later after starting to play again, and at a local shop, out of the blue Sandra said, "you miss having a Precision don't you? Do you like that one?" I knew the guy and we made a good deal and it came home. It's great to play and sounds great as well. People dis those years, but there's not a thing wrong with mine and it's a joy to play--for a couple reasons.
