Thunderbird Club

I have. Oth styles. They both work fine as well as I can tell.
However, I virtually only use the Snark clip on these days. I only use the other if I think “hey I haven’t used this thing for a while, I’ll give it a go again.”
I should add, that if I’m using my zoom pedal for anything, I will also use that to tune to.

Not exactly a New Bass Day, but for $20 it’ll do….

Now I just need to locate a suitable NR body and I’m all set.

not to toot my horn but I can tune down to D on the fly (and be in better tune) than using a Hipshot…it’s just faster than using tuners for me…
So are you one of the rare gifted individuals with perfect pitch and can name pretty much any note played, or is it more a function of decades of good ear training?

Any comments on an Epi EB3 compared to a Tbird? Completely different pickups (sidewinder + mini). See one locally with original hardcase and in excellent condition. Been available for awhile so likely could get it under $300.
Is the Eppi EB3 a 34” full scale, or is it a 32” short scale? The Short scale Gibby SG balances ok, I’ve heard the regular scale EBs are pretty neck heavy.

Yes mine arrived late last week. Now I need to work up the courage to install it.
Q: would screwing it through, or attaching via another method, the pickguard (only) work? or too flimsy a connection?

If you intend to use it as a tug bar or thumb rest you should screw thru the guard and into wood.

If you think it’ll just be ornamental then you could countersink a couple of holes on the back side of the pickguard, install slightly oversized flat head screws up thru the pickguard and threaded into the tug bar, then cut the flat heads heads off the screws they supplied and glue them into place on the top side of the tug bar. Put some painters tape or scotch tape over the screw heads on the underside of the pickguard to protect the bass body from getting scratched, and install the pickguard back onto the bass. It’ll be plenty sturdy for light use or cosmetic appearances but probably not robust enough for a legit tug bar.

She’ll dive like a Stuka.
