2022 was a good bass year for me. I finished the BlingBird, traded a Jazz for the Pink Sparkle NR, and was gifted a new Gibson NR by the wife. As with any new bass in the honeymoon phase they tend to be the ones I focus on for a while. The bass that’s right there with them in play time however, is my capped Korean Goth from many moons ago. So I suspect, when the dust settles and the honeymoon is over my two go to basses will be the capped Goth and the BlingBird.

If the question is more geared towards - if you had to off all your basses but one, which one would you keep? Very tough decision, but I’d probably have my Alembic Dragon Wing as my last man standing bass. It plays wonderfully and is pretty much irreplaceable at any reasonable cost…

Is there adifference between the Korean and Chinese Goths? What's are the neck profiles/nut widths on these? A couple up for sale in my locale. As much as the Gibson Nikki Sixx nearby intrigues me, the narrow nut doesn't...

My #1 since I got it has been my white CP, but that's up in the air now with the Greco here. We'll see.

Unlike the rest of you, I only have 3 basses (hopefully, #4 in January). So, my white CP is definitely the tops.

Yeah, pretty much just meant favorite. My favorite overall is the ThunderP, my favorite 5 is my avatar Dingwall SJ5XXX, which IS seeing more use since I installed the DR Fat-Beams.

Speaking of Tbird necks, I normally really don’t pay any attention to neck size, but last night I was playing my Gibson 2021 NR bird for an hour or so then switched over to one of my other Tbirds and immediately noticed how thin (front to back) the neck was compared to the new NR. The NR has a very rounded and, for a Tbird, beefy neck. No baseball bat, very comfortable to play but might end up being a bit more durable design than previous Tbirds.

The front to back neck thickness right up against the 9th fret of my Gibby 2021 NR bird is .999”

My no 1 love it the most is the 2011 Gibson ‘my precious’.
The one I’ve played the most this year is the Fieder P copy, it is really quite nice with the Chromes on it. Plus it is anonymous and you don’t get any remarks on it. But I do grab the Goth more at home. It is a nice bass, a bit thick and solid. It is the bass I’d grab to use as a weapon in a zombie uprising.
