How would you repair it?

Lots of different ways. I would probably take the electronics out align it as best I could, and then use a low viscosity epoxy to stabilize the wood. Then put everything back together and not worry about it very much. There are more elaborate ways to fix it that include fillers and refinishing. If you were going to refinish it a different color, that would be a good option.

My guess would be they stepped on the cord.

Another reason this numb nut went wireless. Cord mishaps are one way to entertain an audience that I don't recommend.

The Lull I'm madly in lust with and my Flamingo that wanted to follow Veronica wherever she chose to go. I had to drag it home by its neck. I'm pretty sure it was the legs that got its attention.

As the year winds down, I'm just curious to know what your #1 bass is, and if it changed from last year. My #1 this year and last year is one I had the body and neck made and bought all the parts and had assembled:

The Flamingo (see above) was second to the upright at the beginning of last year. Then the band I played upright in fell apart and the Flamingo gets most of the work.

That's really what happened. That bass chose to be Veronica's bass. It's the legs, I tell ya.

This seems to answer my question, assuming the Korean and Chinese Goth necks have the same nut width (whatever that is).

Actually my Korean Goth nut is wider than either of my China Goth nuts.

Oh he has an account here and used to post about effects and such, like when he had a massive Way Huge collection - he's just not really one to use the computer in a casual or social capacity as far as I can tell, because he's hunched over a keyboard like 16 hours a day as it is; shooting and editing video (for various clients on top of the bass channel) is his entire career.

Some of the pre DSOTM stuff but mostly songs from DSOTM, WYWH, The Wall, Division Bell, and some Gilmour stuff after they split up. To my ears most of those songs sound P bass-ish and I’d put the Tbird in the P bass centric camp. Also, don’t forget, I’m really not playing out hardly at all anymore, and I’m not in any tribute band, so there’s no perfect visual or sonic match goal on my part, I’m just happy to hit the notes correctly.

Roto 77s have nice mids to them and are a little brighter than traditional flats, are stiff and low volume. Nice sounding string. Not always as smooth as other flats.
GHS Flats are more old school thump. Good balance across the freqs. Really smooth. Can be stiff if you get larger sets. These and LaBella are some of the most traditional sounding flats around.

Agreed. The Epi Blackbird I recently acquired had them. Nice strings. Sounded great. But the tension created too much stress on the inserts so I swapped them out for the only new set of strings I had on hand; a set of 50-105 NXLs that were in a case of a bass I bought. I’ve never tried those before. They sound great on that bass. More on this issue when I have time. I’m loving the Blackbird.
