Roto 77s have nice mids to them and are a little brighter than traditional flats, are stiff and low volume. Nice sounding string. Not always as smooth as other flats.

Dunlop is a pretty standard choice. I have them on both Birds.
I use Loxx on all of mine. I love them. Very secure and very low-profile.
Several good options. I've used Schaller (style) strap locks since the early 80s with no problems. They have several colors and they don't look clunky. I like that they have a gravity aspect to how they work and not just a pin. Also, you can still use the bass if you have to use a strap that doesn't have the locks on it. I'm not sure how true that is for some styles. Is the Schaller (style) the best? Who knows? Depends of how one defines best. I suspect most of us will prefer what we've used over the years, but all of the name brands work, thus they have been around for years and have loyal users.
