Thunderbird Club

Nice find! My 2013 is perfect. And the good thing about GC is you can have it shipped to your local one to check out, no commitment.
When I bought my VP from them, there was a $25 non-refundable shipping charge to bring it to the GC in Bellingham Washington. To me it’s worth it. If you don’t like the bass you’re only out $25.

Happy Holidays!

It is far and away my number one. It is, will always be. Perfect fit and finish, stock Babicz bridge, etc., a little under 8 1/2 pounds. No neck dive. And I love all my other TBirds, my Fenders and my Peavy Foundation. With Stainless Steel rounds (SIT Power Steels or Dunlap Marcus Miller Superbrights), and in full humbucker mode (both switches down, or off), it is very much a Tbird. Angry piano tone, nice growl and all that. And then so much more depending on how the tap switches are set. It is wonderful through the Boogie channel on my Mesa TT 800 (Mesa 400/Fender Bassman tone stack) and Mesa Subway 410 and my Ampeg SVT VR/Berg 610.

I wholeheartedly recommend every Tbird enthusiast get one. They were only made the one year and a lot are in their forever homes. If you can get one, you will not be disappointed. A lot were available used early on, I think because some owners didn’t take the time to figure them out.

Oh. And it’s a thing to switch the pickguard to black with the gold emblem.

Cheers!

There was one on Reverb for $1800, which is a good price these days. I sure am happy I got one used in late 2015. I still think of it as my new bass, since it was the last keeper bass I bought. That picture makes me think it needs gold and black knobs to go with the black PG and gold logo. Maybe that is the ultimate '15 configuration. It would look good and I am shallow.

The only reason the '15 doesn't get played as much is the Flamingo is Burgundy Mist Metallic and I like the way it looks. Even with Thunderbuckers, the '15 has a more flexible sound that is easier to adjust on any given night.

That is still too expensive plus all the shipping costs to Finland plus taxes. I'm in a 50-100 euros region, the closer to 50 the better.

But I just scored a 2nd hand TC Electronic MojoMojo od, 40 euros. I'll let you know in a few days how does it work and does it take the Monkey off my back, so to speak.
Will be interesting to compare it to the Spark too.

Of course, I understand, sometimes us Yanks forget to look where other Talkbassers are located, sometimes it's not arrogance, it's ignorance. My apologies.

When I returned the damaged Iceman bass, there were no restocking or shipping charges. It was a full refund.

@Engle Are you saying you had it shipped to the local GC, and they charged $25 extra for that?
Whenever I buy a used bass thru GC (which is fairly often) I always have it shipped to the local GC store. If I return it for any reason to the store I picked it up from I get full reimbursement minus shipping costs. Never had a flat fee charge. I was told by the local GC that if I contact the sending store they can provide a full refund including the original shipping charges and the return shipping charge. I value my time more than the shipping fees so I just hand it back to the local store and get a refund minus the shipping.

There you go using logic again.:smug:

I confess, I don't think I ever noticed a difference in string gauge, but like most things, such an aspect likely has to make some impact. Don't think I ver A/B sets either, so it may be more there than I realize with some strings.
I’ve got to bust your chops. The pickiest club member re strings doesn’t notice a difference in gauges?
