That V's caszh wear...

Sometimes it's what I have to do.........
In band news we've been offered Oct.28th (Sat. before Halloween) here:
7 Cedars | Hotel

We are SO excited! It'll be the best night of the year to play, the best stage and FOH/soundman, here's some crowd shots from years past.

A well-deserved gig for the new band.
Right on!!!!!

I really can't recommend them enough, I far prefer it to the 4001v63 I had, which itself was a very good bass. Both the white now-4000 and maple 4001 are great, but the maple one has something a little bit more going on. Just a bit more resonant and bright sounding, a little bit more aggressive. The 4000 is a bit darker sounding, and a little less resonant.
I’ve actually only briefly played one Ric in a guitar shop probably 20 years ago. It sounded good, IIRC the neck felt incredibly thin (I was mostly playing five strings and precisions back then). But even back then the price seemed a bit high for something that I wasn’t sure I’d even like. A couple of times I’ve been tempted to spring for a nice used Ric, but even then they were more than I’d want to pay for something I’m not sure I’d bond with. The used Grecos are closer to the “test me” price point. If you see a nice clean one at a sweet price PM me, I might be persuaded to try one on for size.

Carmine is one of my all time favorite drummers plus he's a great stick twirler.

It's a coordination skill, especially considering he's playing such killer drums. Jaco was like that on bass - no matter what pyrotechnics he threw into his bass-lines, he never missed a beat.

Dino Danelli was another good one, I think these NY drummers spurred each other on. Dino was another great drummer.

Have you ever read any Freud?
Yes, ages ago, mostly for research papers. Several biographies in more recent memory.

One fun thing is to find and get people from different schools of thought (Freud, Jung, etc.), to start shooting each other down! A great learning experience. They often have no mercy for the other. It's like one is bashing the other's religious leader! :woot:

I actually found developmental psychology far more interesting. Though it has it's fair share of internal arguments as well, but maybe not as many. It seemed have more hard data to back up theories and often more practical.

Girl Scouts only look sweet and innocent. They are evil. They sell Thin Mints. They enable even more effectively than the members of this club.
I walked past a girl scout pop up booth in front of my local beer store two weeks ago. I declined the initial offering from the young sales rep..She looked at me and said "you're gonna need them later" :)
Sure, we worry about Mexican cartels distributing fentanyl, but we let the Girl Guides run rampant in our neigbourhoods...

I appreciate them, shortly owned a nice '86 Maple-Glo with the reversed tr/2 part pg/2 screws in bridge... but at the end f the day - just not my cup of tea.

I did make my own silver-leaf gilded, lined-fretless Steinberger carbon-fiber neck/DB System (drop-D) tuner-bridge RSO - sold years ago. Lovely final-finish by Pat Wilkins.

Nine machine-bolts connect a 1/4" neck-plate of carbon-fiber

Psychoanalysis lost popularity in big part because insurance companies didn't want to pay for 4 or 5 sessions a week. I think it really hurt Freud when Jung broke away.

One of the things about most Ric basses (4000 series???) that has never appealed to me is the “designed by a mechanical engineering committee” look. To my eyes it’s klunky and awkward looking. But I can get over that if it plays and sounds nice.

I do like the looks of the Cheyenne model (where they offed a bunch of the bulky pieces) and I really like the look of the semi hollow body model (3000 series???).

Our keyboard player was out of town (SWSX or whatever is going on in Austin just now) so there was plenty of room to spread out and play as a four piece in the rehearsal room last night. This bass just sounds so ^&%$#*( good! The Trace Elliott/SWR/Thunderbird = perfect!
Ears are ringing a little this AM.

Which model Trace did you buy? In my head I am thinking it was the AH350?

I managed to go out for a few errands last night, just as the weather went to :poop:.......so while I was out, I swung by my package drop, and found one of these....

......ftr, it's not a small-scale Thunderbird, nor a dis-assembled one.
In fact, there's a significant probability it's not a Thunderbird at all.......:(

We look forward to seeing whatever it is!

Sorry I've been slacking on this, work-stuffs interfering again :banghead:

So, just a bit more teaser-y, for now......

Loved The Rascals - Dusty did an awesome cover of one of their songs -
