Thunderbird Club

And the DeColas and the CP and VP/60 pickups.
The DeColas definitely. I want to put a set in the red Limited Edition Custom shop Epi I got from @KaraQ.

I prefer the new NR pickups over the VP pickups. But that’s just me. And don’t ask me to explain why. They just sound wonderful through the Boogie channel on the Mesa TT800 and through the SVT VR. And even through a little Hartke I have. The VP pickups are great and all, but the NR pickups just do something for me.

Not to mention if it is a disaster, I can simply return it with 45 days, so no chance of a loss. This works out well as I have instruments set up in E standard, Eb standard and D standard, and go to drop D, Db an C. With my ‘95 and ‘01 Gibby’s and now the Eppi, I’ll have all the “basses” covered!

Now it’s time to sell off a few excess Fenders I have. I think I’ll have to break down and list on the classifieds here. Was really hoping to sell local and avoid shipping…
Whatcha got? Bring ‘em to the GTG in August.

I'm liking the Gibson '21 NR pickups a lot too, to me they're a bigger, wider tone, especially in the lo mids. There's not quite as much top end or clank, but the right strings make a big difference in that.

Nice! But give me an old man’s bike.

I’ll say definitely maybe…
YES!

If it’s the first weekend in August, I’ll be there for sure if it’s Saturday. I may have to do an up and back Cannonball Run. But it’ll be worth it. If it’s Sunday, I’ll make every effort to be there. It might be tough as I have a trial that “may” start that Monday. Too soon to know for sure. But I wouldn’t miss a GTG for the world.

Screw the excuses. You know you’re coming. 2 cases of 805 this time.

Wider tone is a good description. Consistent humbucker goodness across all the strings up and down the neck.
