Ford has a long history of mucking up perfectly good designs.

This is classic(tho not class-y):

I can’t read music to save my life, but that last chord looks like it would be a tough one to play.

Been the same my whole life.

Half the state of CA is in a perpetual drought with spotty relief every few years. Combine that with a largely non existent water management infrastructure to capture and store excess water, then throw in a zealous and litigious nature conservation policy to force mass water dumps and eliminate new water retention projects, confound the whole situation with a thirsty state wide agricultural industry larger than most countries have, and just for good measure add a massive population with a bent on owning swimming pools and lush gardens and you’ve got the perfect storm.

California has a water storage issue at the moment. It will have a water issue again when this hydro cycle reverts to more normal. Texas is completely screwed. They have no water to store. I hate to think what the whole southwest, meaning west of Dallas and south of Boise, is going to be like in 20 or 30 years.

Not really. One's index finger goes across all 6 strings in first space, finger an E chord with bird, ring, and little fingers. And I don't play gee-tar.

They belong to Uwe Hornung, many of them are pictured in The Gibson Bass Book | An Illustrated Tribute by Rob van den Broek
It is an amazing collection well over 100 pieces, pretty much one of every bass Gibson has ever done, many prototypes and one off. I first met Uwe way back on The Dudepit, he is a very nice man, intelligent, genuine and has a rare sense of humor, when he travelled to the the U.S. for a visit we had the chance to meet in person, these pics a from a visit I made to Germany to see him and the basses. The bass he's holding below is one that he picked up and had modified, it then needed a refin, he asked for suggestions and I blurted "Orange to Blue burst" he took me up on it -for better or worse! Yes those are vintage Thunderbird pickups!

Bond Girl did 3 sets last night in Sausalito at the "No Name Bar" - our 2nd BG show there. Smallish bar, tiny stage. I sat on a bar-stool off the stage most of the night and used my 1x12 TC Electronics combo amp. (sounded great!) Phil brought his 3-piece kit. Nice crowd, fun night - met some nice people during our breaks. Very chill evening - they want us back again. Other pic/vids were taken... I'll post when they show up.

Yes, that's the finish. It was a natural, but was an awful (to me) color. I always thought it a great idea to be able to move the pickup. It was so long ago ('79/80ish), I couldn't even say what they sound like. The blue is pretty!

I don't - at least not with my bands. I'll eventually take it to our Friday night jam-session to stretch out on it. The bass was a project V8 project, I'll be listing it for sale eventually. ESP makes great stuff - I love my ESP/Grass Roots Bass IV.
