Can't 'like' that... sounds like CA - either fires or floods.
? I’ve never had an an issue. Wherther the “standard” F or the barred F as on the T shirt."F" on a guitar is a real pain. I've heard guitar players complain about it. Many do it with no problem. I have to cheat. The trick it to just play a Gbb.
Watch that line my friend. It is very complicated. And my swimming pool actually uses less water than if the same area was landscaped. It wasn’t an issue 25 years ago when we built the house. It really isn’t one now where that house is. Our local water authorities have diligently planned and have more than enough water stored. It is all about planning and foresight. The greater L.A area, with only a few exceptions, has been devoid of water planning for at least fifty years.

It is an amazing collection well over 100 pieces, pretty much one of every bass Gibson has ever done, many prototypes and one off. I first met Uwe way back on The Dudepit, he is a very nice man, intelligent, genuine and has a rare sense of humor, when he travelled to the the U.S. for a visit we had the chance to meet in person, these pics a from a visit I made to Germany to see him and the basses. The bass he's holding below is one that he picked up and had modified, it then needed a refin, he asked for suggestions and I blurted "Orange to Blue burst" he took me up on it -for better or worse! Yes those are vintage Thunderbird pickups!
In SoCal, nothing has been accurate this year. We were not supposed to have a continuing drought with an El Nina. But this past winter was brutal. More snow than in the last twenty years. And we are supposed to be heading into an El Niño year. Which should mean more rain. But things are whacked so who knows. I’ve learned the “experts” don’t have a clue.
It is Geo. So peaceful. Hours go by by before anyone drives past the house. And more often than not, it’s the HOA security. I would be honored to host you all for a GTG. Plenty of room for everyone to crash here. Gourmet kitchen where we can make anything. There’s a golf course for anyone who wants to get up early and play nine. And a very nice HOA heated pool (recently renovated for $6,000,000.00). There’s live music at the clubhouse on Friday and Saturday nights that is usually excellent. I’m more than willing to host in 2025. 2024 will probably be Seattle…

Our daughter said it finally hit 70°F in Anchorage yesterday. Meanwhile, it was 102°F here when I finished today’s ride.
all Thunderbirds are safely air conditioned at Casa Roadkill.

Well, he was buying basses pretty regularly when I first met him on the 'Pit and things were not quite so expensive then either. I remember him saying that the EB-6 Hollow body was the one bass that really cost a lot when he bought it at 10K. As Germans can be, he is a completist and he scoured ebay and music stores for Gibson basses at a time when most folks didn't think of them at all. When I joined the 'Pit I had my '73 4001 and the '89, which still had all black hardware, between Uwe, Scott and George Carlston I was turned into a Thunderbird junkie in less than 6 months - and everything had to have chrome hardware..........Thousands of dollars later
There's a couple Thunderbirds in this pic, note the one with the block inlaid neck and Korina body.

I really like my MXR M87 Bass comp. Transparent, more control than the Dyna, and has the meter to let you see what the levels are doing.
i can smell it from here (happy sigh). And yeah, they’re great.

I bought the MXR M87 new but could never get it dialed to a sound that worked for me - sold it and got this one used. Pretty basic but always on in my effects chain at the setting shown.
worked with a dude at GE Digital who used to fly these……said putting them down on a carrier was nothing short of a controlled crash….
