There were two squadrons of them on the Enterprise. Plus 2 squadrons of F4s, 1 of A6s, 2 RA5Cs, and a couple of A1s, plus choppers. All were a controlled crash-except the A1s. They just sorta floated in over the flight deck and gently set down. Didn't even need the 'hook'.

They're really cool. There was a privately owned one based at Palm Beach International Airport. IDK if it's still there. Interesting fact about the A4: the nose wheel wasn't steerable, just castored. Steered with main wheel brakes.
interesting on the A4…. this dude was about 5’7 and 130lbs….like a modern day 7th grader …..later saw an A4 cockpit at a museum (think it may have been the museum of flight in Sea) and they are REALLY small….if they gave me a choice of what to fly in Nam it would have probably been the A1….

This* was on a street corner in Nowra (home of HMAS Albatross RAN base) It is the corner to turn left to take you to the villages on the north side of Jervis Bay. Dunno if it is still there or not, I read at some point there were people suggesting it was a safety hazard, if it fell off I guess.

I like putting lounge chairs under a coconut tree. Good call on the baseball cap in case the palm umbrella doesn't live up to expectations.
