Could be some fun sorting it out and learning it. I foresee some shopping coming up for cables and other bits and bobs. Probably a bigger mixer to dedicate to the group. Already I think we will need a mic (or mics) if we are getting an amplified backing.
May also need a combo amp some where between the Rumble 15 and the 250w Eminar head and CX115 cab.

But I’ll try and make do with what I’ve got for the time being. At least while sorting out what works / doesn’t work for us.

I enjoy figuring stuff out. For the Midi stuff, it helps to have the manuals sometimes.

OK. It arrived. It’s awesome, 18mm at bridge and 34”scale. Fantastic B string, plays great. I see what you all mean by articulate. The strings are dead dead dead and still every note is clear and punchy down to the low B. I do wish it were VBT instead of VVT, but whatever.

It has some kind of Daddarios on it (rounds, multicolored ball ends), and they are DEAD. My go-to strings are Nickel Lo-Riders. Will those do the job (defined, thick, aggressive, some spank and sparkle)? Any other suggestions?

“VBT” always takes me a second because I had a G&L (Strat) that was volume/bass/treble.

She meant the scale, not that it doesn’t sound awesome. I tend to go with the neck pu because, like the EB0, it’s right up against the neck and has a unique sound/feel. The only mod (unlike some people in TB, I don’t consider changing strings a modification) was moving the front strap button to the end of the top horn.

I know you’re refering to TB as a whole, but I can’t recall anyone in this club considering string changes to be bass mods…

True. But in the greater TB universe, some do and it leaves me scratching my head. It’s like changing your oil is modifying your car.

Thanks, it was beautiful. That was the insurance bass from when my beloved '78 Pbass was stollen from church. Yes, it's weird looking. The original is much better looking, but I'm used to them and don't even think about it now. Fender (the company) complained so Leo and George went drastic! Apparently it's not an issue any longer worth arguing over once Fender figured out G&L wasn't going to take a decent slice of their pie. The Tribute Series are really nice. Same electronics as the US made but built in Indonesia. I think the same place as the Skyline's from Lakland. I had a Tribute M2000 and it was very close to US quality at about $1k less. They don't sound as good as the L series, which are beasts. Super comfortable basses to play.

Well here it is! I'm really happy with the 760 Probucker in this!

I think the 760s can benefit from the neck location that's closer to the neck. Might be the ideal spot for them in some ways. I image they can go north like that and still not tend toward getting a little hallow sounding given they have ample mids.
