Thunderbird Club

So, what’s a reasonable offer if it’s been listed for a month? Also, can’t find the full description of any issues.
If they are listing at $1650 then they gave the previous owner about $900 for it. They’ll want over 60% profit, so an offer of $1500 might seal the deal. You won’t find many for sale at that price and probably none with a return policy as generous. On the 2015 I would absolutely recommend a good return policy if you don’t have the chance to try before you buy, it’s a very different bird from any other Tbird I’ve owned or played.

It’s GC. That’s how they are. You can call the store and ask about it. Ask about the case. If it is included, that makes it a very good price for that bass. If it isn’t included, that’s still the ballpark for it these days.

Basically, the way you do it is buy it, and have it shipped to your local GC. It’s only like $24.00. It’ll take four days or so to get there. You get a text message and email when it arrives at your store. You go to pick it up, inspect it there, and if there are any issues you’re not happy about you can reject it then and there. If you think it’s ok, you take it home. You have 30 days to return it.

I’d take a TR Phillips screw driver and a Gibson crack pipe TR wrench to check and make sure the TR works before taking it home. I’d also plug it in and make sure the electronics work. But you know that.

Don’t forget the Gen 1 Firebird convertible. That’d do me nicely.
dont forget Mopar corner….

It’s hard to tell what it has. Even if it’s the standard 350, that’s a rock solid motor. The only issue with them as I recall were the brakes.
I remember reading that Pontiac (at least) weren’t happy with the prototype convertibles and ended up putting a bit of ballast in to strengthen and improve the manners…
Re the engines, I’d be hoping for a 400.

Nope. Some kind of light oiling done, and by the time it got to buyers, just natural (ahem) wood.
I’ve always wondered if there is a maintenance regime that comes with those. Are you supposed to re oil them every so often ?

The economy must be really bad in California. Everyone is diving old cars like in Cuba. ;):smug:

I like that!
I read a while ago, maybe 10 years ago, that there were still c1960 Holdens in use as taxis in Athens (the one in Greece) into the 1970s. But by those days they had transplanted Mercedes engines into them.

I’m guessing it would be quite a shock seeing such old cars in use.

You have some days scheduled in Seattle during August so I'll get all the basses and big amp together in the basement, perhaps Will @Gaolee can bring some more and an amp as well. There's a reasonable bar at the house and lots of good food in nearby Burien.
Your neighbors will hate us. It will be awesome!
