Thunderbird Club

with the exception of “The Machine” Matador, was not a big fan of post ‘70 AMC….
I saw Mark Donohue in a Javelin battle George Follmer and Parnelli Jones in Mustangs at MidOhio in either '70 or '71. If it was a '71 Javelin, I can make an exception. My brother's '68 AMX still gives me fond memories.

Seattle's pleasant today too, down to about 75 tomorrow, but it's been a nice Spring/ Summer so far!

Fun thing about the SF Bay Area is it can be 105 and 75 all within a 100 miles. I live near the airport and 80 is the high. Out in the valley just 40 minutes from here, 101.

Oddly thunderstorms are expected? Hope this does not create a repeat of the 2020 fires that were set off by dry lightning.

Not yet the peak of the day.

Sounds like Morro Bay, that place is a vortex.
Once you cross over the 101, literally, its at least 20-30 degrees warmer.

Fast forward to 4:30…

Laguna Seca historic Trans Am races held every year during car week in Monterey, this year it’s the weekend after the GTG.

Anyone know if there were years the Thunderbird had the 1.62” rounded neck? The newest ones seem to be 1.5” with the exceptions of the Gene Summons Simmons
The Simmons, the ‘21 to current Non-reverses, and the ‘13 Non-reverses all have a 1.6 nut width. Otherwise, Gibsons are 1.5.

Older Epi bolt-ons are 1.72. Newer Epi Bolt-ons are 1.5, as are the Epi Pros, the classic Pros, and the Vintage Pros/60’s.

Edit: The very rare Gibson short scale is a 1.6 nut width. The very rare Gibson five string is a 1.76 nut.
