yeah, kinda hard to believe little AMC from Kenosha held the big three at bay for two years in a row in the Trans-Am series…

Now they say we’ll hit 112 by 5:30.
Most people that haven’t lived in SoCal don’t realize the drastic climate differences we have from one location to another even though they are very close distance wise. Lots of micro climates around here. Always interesting to watch the weather report for the greater Los Angeles area on the local news station (KTLA) it’s about 5 different weather reports rolled into one.

Right now it’s about 85F here in Moorpark. If I drive 5 minutes down the road to Camarillo it’ll be five degrees cooler (80F), and if I drive five minutes down the road into Simi Valley it’ll be five degrees warmer (90F). Drive another five minutes from there into the valley (San Fernando valley, home of Tarzana, Encino, Burbank…) it’ll be ten degrees hotter than Simi Valley (100F).

We just turned our air conditioner on for the first time this year a couple of days ago. Up until then the heater was on and kicking in at night.

I guess that’s it for today.

Only a high of 105 here today. My sister’s in Phoenix, where it was supposed to hit 115.

Yes it is VERY hot here right now. Finally got the AC unit for the front of the house working after a week without it. Thank God this house has 2 units and the back part of the house stayed cool.

In 1979 I bought a mint 1973 Javelin AMX. Fun car, but not as tossable as the previous gen AMX like Chucky’s. A few years later my ex wife got it in the divorce, a few weeks after that she totaled it while DWI.:rollno:
oh well, it was fun while it lasted. :(
Pic, not mine but pretty much identical…

In my humble opinion, having never written a song myself, Ronnie was a fantastic lyricist and a great producer in that he knew what music would fit his lyrics and pulled it out of the other musicians in the band. He was a storyteller who managed to paint a picture with songs like Things Goin’ On and Gimme Three Steps so that even if you didn’t live in his world, you completely experienced it through his songs. Springsteen is similar in that regard. Without him, it didn’t work for me.
Agree. And according to Ed, never wrote words down. Amazing. Unlike many bands, you knew what the song was actually about. I hate songs you listen to many times and still have no clue what heck it's talking about. I've heard a number of people explain their songs and I thought, "Well, if you say so."

Well, I *do* have two of them......only 36-ish lbs., so not too horrible for shipping ;)

New Pedal. I sold a TCE phaser that was getting me by when my old Phase 90 died. After Chuck breathed new life into it I didn't need it any longer, so I sold it on Sweetwater's used site and had $95 on hold. I kept thinking I'd buy something but I don't need strings and when I do, I find them other places. Saw a demo of a JHS Phaser for just shy of my balance after taxes. I wanted one for home as I love hearing a phaser at times and the TCE was nice, but didn't make me love it.

I got to use it today and this is really nice for what I want to hear--just a touch of flavor. I was really impressed. Didn't have to spend any time getting what I wanted. Nice pedal and a decent price. It's not going to replay my beloved Phase 90, but it's nice to have a nice one at home or a back up if ever needed again.
