I'll be going into Puget Sound next month for a dive. It has been hot here, for here, and it will stay that way for at least another month or two. Puget Sound is cold and stays cold, but I wonder if there will be a warm layer near the surface. I hadn't thought of it, but now I'll be looking to see if that's a phenomenon in open water.

Do it! You were expecting a different answer from anybody here? If you can get a 2015, it's pretty much a requirement that you get a 2015.
And I already consider it hot, as I'm not the biggest fan of heat.
And I keep imagining your reports of even higher temps

That humidity would kill me.

Make the trip next year if the GTG is up here. It's absolutely worthwhile going east over the mountains. Central Washington is different from northeast Washington which is different from southeast Washington. Going down through central and eastern Oregon is more of the same, but still worthwhile. I'm pretty sure you could spend your life exploring Washington and never run out of discoveries. The same is also true of other states. Good thing we aren't stuck in just one state or even country.
I’ve been through it twice now. A wonderful way to spend a few hours when in SD. And the docent crews that conduct tours and talks are fantastic. A must see for everyone.

Hmmm... I don't think I'll be doing that to my cymbals until they crack. Which I sure hope they don't do. A friend who is a dedicated drummer had old copper kettle drums as planters in his back yard. I'm not sure where you find kettle drums that don't cost a fortune, working or not, to do that with, but they sure made beautiful planters.Any drummers in the house?

Man. That is a great price on those. If I didn’t have other priorities, I’d be all over one of the Rex Browns.
The IV doesn't seem like such a great deal when you can find CPs and VPs in good condition for around that same price.
We did that back in the day. Hadn’t thought about it in years. That is a simple and fun riff.

Maybe so. But getting those kind of deals on a CP or VP are the exception anymore rather than the rule. Although there have been some great deals for them recently. Anyway, the basic Epi IV is the best new sub $500 bass on the market right now.
