No. Standard Thunderbird case. The Gator Thunderbird wooden case will work. Of course so will the current Epi case.

the period between tubes and transistors…some tv sets used both for awhile as power transistors natured…..
in this case, just an old school ( somewhat up market) solid state AM/FM receiver…

Nope. It fits in a standard Gibson or Epiphone case. If you already have a case, it will fit just fine.

I dunno. It's really hot in spite of the driving rain. We all have to walk uphill in both directions because downhill hasn't made it this far yet. Maybe next year. And we don't have refrigerators. Who knows, they might be happier in Finland. The only problem for me is that my wife would hate the light change. We lived through that as AK residents in the 60s and 70s when we were both kids.
The system I work on that’s hosted there has primary users in AK, WA, OR, MT, ID, and potentially other states since it provides failover capability too.

My wife can take summer or winter in Alaska for about a week, then she's ready to come home. Winter's lack of daylight starts her feeling depressed. Summer's lack of actual night just messes with her. We have to put aluminum foil over our bedroom windows in summer when we visit our daughter, but even then her body and mind don't tell her it's time to sleep in the rest of the house because it's so light. Then suddenly she's exhausted.

I wouldn't mind spending a year there, but that would be enough. Winter's a lot of work if you aren't a homebody!

I remember Dad buying a radio for the car and it having “11 Transistors” written across the front.
Back in the days when cars used to get a badge on the back for automatic transmission

117 on Friday…that’s just brutal. I do not think I have ever experienced that. I think 109 might be the highest I have ever been in. And I feel like once you are over 100, each degree feels like 5 higher.

It's been 120+ here several times since I've lived here. The first time the AC was out in my car and then went out at our apartment. That was brutal!!

Last minute ECO after something proved problematic.

LOL - I haven’t heard the term “Engineering Change Order” since I was a draftsman in the late 70’s for GE. The funny thing is, there were only two situations that would warrant a drawing revision. One was a mistake by the engineering department which necessitated an Engineering Change Order (ECO) to fix the drawing. The other was a mistake in the drafting department, which necessitated a Drafting Error Notice (DEN) to fix the drawing. We in the design department always thought it funny that the Engineers could correct their mistakes by calling it a change order, but the draftsmen only had errors.

I remember when it hit 122 back in the 90's. They shut down the airport because Boeing manuals didn't have flight data for temps that hot.
Sounds weird, but that's what we were told.

$1449 sounds decent. I don’t buy gear on time. But if it’s zero interest and with the current rate of inflation, sounds ok to me.
