Understood. You’re bringing enough goodies. But you coming is really what matters.
Happens…Quite honestly, I don't think Leo had a clue about angled head stocks and breakage. I believe his necks were straight in order to save costs in building them. Pretty much like the bolt on neck, all shortcuts to build it cheaper.
As always, your mileage may vary.
Every one of my T-Birds has an extender... with the exception of Bicentennial.
LOL - maybe I should add a drop D tuner to the E string on my 5 string bass so I can get those low tunings without having to use my B string thumb rest.

Holy F*** that's a hell of a deal for a bass that looks brand new! & this isn't a competition, but figured i might as well share my own short story of used bass buying
In 2016, when i was working at my local music store (steve's Music in Montreal, Canada), there was an older Gent who came in with his Gibson Grabber to have it fixed. Sadly, we weren't able to do the fixes, so he came back to get it, very understanding. On a whim, i gave him a paper with my name & number, & mentioned if ever he wanted to sell it, i'd be interested in buying (knowing full well how much these went for on used market online). SIX years pass, & in all that time, i had forgotten about it. Until last October 2022, when we got in touch, & met up late in the month. I originally bought it for 400$ from him (which is what he was asking for), but after discovering the truss rod was broken, & it'd have to be fixed (or possibly a new neck built entirely), he refunded me 200$. So i am the proud owner of a 1975 Gibson Grabber, in wine red. Aside from the broken rod (which i'll just fix with stewmac rod saver tool), a refret with the correct fret size, & some dings/scratches all around the body, it's all original & sounds killer! Though i have swapped the output jack for a switchcraft, & replaced the saddle height screws with shorter allen ajustable ones (kept the original parts in the case, the output was too loose to keep a good connection, & well the infamous tall saddle screws will cut my hand if i rest against it while playing).
Anyway, here's a picture
^^^This makes it my third Grabber bass; the first being the one i built in 2014-2015, the 2nd being a 70's copy branded Maya (which i've modified/updated parts). But none sound like this one growls.
Looks to be. This and my TV Silver one have the SN on the back of the HS. The one on the TV Silver is the other way around. My other three are Korean with the SN’s on the neck plate.
Serial number is upside down or inverted?
This one is 2010 MIC. I have a MIC Goth of the same year. It’s at the other house. I’ll have to check the orientation of the SN when I’m up there next. Interesting anyway.

If I had a broken neck on my Thunderbird I think I´d be sad for the rest of the year.
I try to get my basses in the best possible condition, I'm careful with them; of course scratches are unavoidable, but holes, dents, cracks are too much for me.

Ibanez uses what appears to be a slightly steeper angle on the thin, narrow necks of their Soundgear line (the one in the pic is a neck-through '96 sr1200), but with some reinforcement (volute?), and a significantly smaller headstock.
Don't think I've ever heard of a Soundgear with a broken headstock

I've got a Hipshot extender on my bolt-on 'bird; it was a direct-fit drop-in. Took a bit of tinkering to get set up just right, but it works well once done
