I’m running EMG pickups in my 73 Rick.
It’s set up with an 18 volt power system under the hood.
They would hate me over at the Rickenbacker Club.
This thing screams BTW.

So would you if we wired your sensitive inputs up to a higher voltage.
My '69 had the Super Bee stripe & six pack hood when I got it.
It had been used as a drag car at some point, and had some things missing, like all the original a/c stuff.
The engine that had been put in after its racing days were over was a 318 from a Dodge Diplomat police interceptor. One of the ones that came bored 30 over and with factory modded 360 heads. Had the cop car trans too, it had a different torque converter and shift mods compared to non-interceptors.
With 2.76? 2.72? gears, it'd barely get out of it's own way from a stop, but on the highway..... it'd blow past 140 (mph) and keep going for just as long as the driver was brave
By the time I parted with it, it had went through a lot of changes, and ended up with '70 Charger r/t suspension, huge disc/drum brakes from one of those huge '77/'78 cop cars, a 727 TorqueFlite with full shift kit, 3.93? 3.91? Gears in a sturdier rear axle, a 440 with 4-barrel, headers, cam, etc.
By then it was a *lot* of fun, but was no good for commuting ~350 miles a week at 7 mpg.
I've regretted getting rid of it, 25 years ago?, since like a day or two after

My mom's mom had a 69 Coronet. I don't know what it had in it, but it would get up and GO. She took it easy but when I'd borrow it, she always told me to have fun but come back with car and Miles in one piece. I always did all of the above!

I'm thinking of selling my 2015 for a 1991, I really like the tonal options of the 2015 and switch the tones multiple times during a gig, it's in mint condition, the '91 felt more solid and the neck felt a little bit chunkier which I like. The '91 has had a headstock crack repaired and looks to have been well loved and played. I'd be going from a minty 2015 to a road warn '91.

An oldies pic. From 2006. I have just received my custom made Jazz Bass from its builder (neck'bucker obscured).

If there is any way to afford keeping the ‘15, consider that. It is unlikely they’ll ever make one with that configuration again. They are becoming scarce on the used market.

I doubt it. rarely did I slap. And for good reason. Likely playing octaves for a ZZ Top tune. Sharp Dressed man I'd guess.

I would like to again compliment everyone in this thread. I was reminded after posting an engine question on a Ford truck forum and basically received the here's how you can search for your answer reply. It was politely worded, but as I stated in my reply, I've done that and didn't receive an answer to my specific question and was hoping someone would have experience with that part of it. The guy probably thought he was being helpful, but was not. I'm sure there are some people who never search first for anything but those kinds of search button is your friend replies are not helpful. Nor are they as clever as the poster thinks. I'm always thankful for everyone here that even if a question is obvious to some, and has been asked and answered many times, there is always enthusiasm to help the person find the correct information along with some personal experience, not what was read someplace. Great group of people here.

I got my Epiphone thunderbird 60s in and I absolutely love it! Super low fast playing, balances great on a wide strap. My only real gripe would be a better higher fret access buts its completely managable, and if it came in cardinal red, phelam blue, or any of the fun colors thats the Jack Cassady Epiphone gets.
I know it gets said often you can't eq it like you would a fender, so curious how everybody tends to set their amps<I generally have most things set noon/flat but playing with settings now.
