I brought this home yesterday, Epiphone 60s (vintage pro)Thunderbird number four! That makes two white and two tobacco sunburst As you all know I think very highly of these basses and I still think that it is the best Thunderbird out there and the best built since the original 63-65 birds. Still a bargain at $749 MAP. These next to my 60s Nonreverse Thunderbirds are my favorite bass and I find myself playing them more and more.View attachment 5157255 View attachment 5157256

Miles, can your Dragon Lord series books be obtained in hard bound editions?
As mentioned, my daughter (31 yrs old) is an avid reader but she’s also a collector with a pretty extensive library including original first publications of Charles Dickens series of Little Dorrit from the 1850’s and some other stuff that I can’t recall right now that goes back to the early 1700’s. I’m thinking a full set of the Dragon Lord series might be a neat Christmas present for her.

I've been associated with the HOG since 1976, they have been unbelievably generous over the years.

I’ve checked the website before. It looks like a very cool store. They even carry vinyl and CDs. You’re fortunate to have it near you.

There’s a very cool restomod ‘68 Barracuda on eBay right now that would make a fantastic driver/weekend show car. They dropped a 5.7 Hemi crate in it and cleaned up the interior/exterior very nicely. I’m more of a 1970+ ‘Cuda guy but this older one is very cool for under $50K. Would make a nice addition to the AMX in your garage.

No. But the inspiration for it was an insane drug deal a friend and I were involved in circa 1974. The first chapter is all true right up to the point where I died. (Hint: IRL, I didn't die. AFAICT.)

Nice! I love both of mine and am forever grateful you took the time talking with me and pointing me to the VPs. If I could not have my '64 and could only have one bass, it would be a VP. The white one has GHS flats and the used burst has SIT Super Steels and both sound amazing. If they were only in nitro instead of poly.... But you can't generally have everything. Not that the poly feels bad, I just love the feel of old nitro.

That's one of the reasons I found it difficult to bond with the one I had. It just didn't feel the same in my hands as a nitro finished Gibson. I have had poly finished instruments that felt great. It wasn't one of those for whatever reason.

They seem a little confused about the transmission. It's an automatic 5-speed manual. Or something. It sure looks good anyway.
