As first time dog guardians, Beth and I do all we can to promote well-being for our 9yr old (rescued at 6) Pomchi Mona. I read up on the breed - what to and not to do and are very lucky she is healthy and well mannered. (we think she came from a good home) I try not to think of the end of her life (luckily they live long) and can't imagine losing her. People that don't have pets will never understand how attached one gets to your dog/cat/_. I hope your dogs last days are peaceful and I know you will provide the needed love he needs.

Solder and some clear-ish white rubber material. Tomorrow I’ll melt the solder and see what I can find. That should get rid of the silicone.

Why, you can find Embassy basses all day long for $300 and under.

With that purchase you get two pickups identical to the VP pups, spacers, trim rings, screws, a VP bridge with claw, along with strap pins, pots, knobs, an output jack. Strip all that off and list the husk with pickguard, truss cover and tuners on eBay for $100. So you’re only $200 all in if you want to keep the bridge.

Sell the bridge for $100 on eBay if you don’t need it and that brings you down to just $100 for a complete set of ProBuckers with all the associated hardware. That’s darn near the price of a set of ChinaBuckers.

Before trying to unsolder those wires try removing the silicone glue first. You may find that the previous owner tried to glue wires in place vs soldering them. If that’s the case you might be able to solder the bad wire back on.

You’ll also find that there’s a tremendous heat sink in that metal plate the wires are soldered on to. It’s a tricky job soldering (or even unsoldering) something like that, you’ll need a good high temp iron with a broad chisel blade and desolder syringe to do it right and you’ll need to take extra care not to let any of the hot solder drip down into the can where it can ruin the pickup coils or mess up the wax potting.
