Thunderbird Club

I would disconnect everything and test each component separately. It's a little more work, but it will be easier to find the trouble.
And you can do a nicer job than whoever was in there before.
Edit: just saw you posted its working. Maybe there is an intermittent short at the pickup.
Or stray solder/wire underneath/inside the pot.

You need to set the formulas to music.

The formulas I can remember now are for mixed drinks........

I can make (and enjoy) a Manhattan....:drool:

Well, looks like I need a Probucker 760 neck pickup. I have continuity between the braid and hot lead and zero ohms across. Dead short :poop:.

If you desolder the braid from the pickup body, do you still see the short? If so, the short is inside the braid and you just need new wiring.

serious TBird geekage while Dave’s B-15 braying in the background…….:laugh:
truly priceless……:roflmao::roflmao:

We did get a little caught up in the geekage there :laugh: I love it, you guys all made it so much fun!

I played that bass again at rehearsal Sunday, love how plays but the strings are just not working in very well, they're prone to going out of tune after being played, much more so than any of my others. May have to try some Ken Smith Burners.

The Flamingo probably needs Burners again. Kat talked me into putting those on it, and I hated them at first. Once they broke in, after a couple weeks, they were fantastic for a long time. They were 50-115 or something like that. A little thicker than the usual.

Well, considering that you plan to modify one and keep the other stock, that means you have a spare of each pickup. Or did before one died.
