New or fix the Probucker?Sorry, I missed to post previous. Lindy Fralin and Curtiss Novak will wind a period correct T-Bird pickup for you.
He's still hanging on. We can't believe it. He has a bad week, doesn't feel good and doesn't eat much. We think it's going to be decision time, then seems to bounce back and has a decent week. The last few days have been good, considering. The last two nights he's been wanting to get up and wander or go out at 2 or 3AM. He often wants to go out in the middle of the night (which gets really old!), but he has been restless the last two nights. Today he was subdued. He seems to be in no pain--which we would not allow to go on. But his tumor is really growing on his back thigh and at some point it will burst or start leaking and get infected. If it's gets too big and is burdensome or painful for him we will have to do what's best for him even is he's otherwise feeling fine. Tough call.... He and I got to take a couple short trips in the truck (which he seems to enjoy, though he can't see out). Never thought he would live to be over 15, but am glad. Thanks for asking, Mike.@dagrev : How's Grady ?

My cousin's G'mother on the other side of the family had a blue '68 convertible w/white top. And she was old then! There’s a new NR pickup listed on eBay, for $120 but it looks exactly like a Chinabucker, and there are no stickers on the bottom so beware. This Gibson NR one still appears to be available. $400 for one. Ouch.

Very kind of you. He's our boy. Can't imagine him not being around. But I'm thankful we've had him all these years. Useless thinking, but I'd trade every bass I own for another 15 yrs with him.I see dignity in this pic.
I wonder if Gibson is still going to sell those. I bet they'd be way cheaper than that. This Gibson NR one still appears to be available. $400 for one. Ouch.

I hope. I’d pay $220.00 a piece which seems to be the price for other aftermarket Tbird Pickups.I wonder if Gibson is still going to sell those. I bet they'd be way cheaper than that.
My Hard Rock band “Bad Lemon” (as opposed to my heavy rock band “Red Sun Ruins”) has released our 5th “EP” named Bad Lemon V.
No Thunderbird content but I recorded “Burn it Down” and “Against the Tide” with fretless. Ten years ago I would have never thought I could play a fretless let alone record a somewhat note-ey song (Burn…) with one.

Is that silicone caulking holding the wire to the back of the pickup? Don’t think I’ve seen that before. If that’s what it is then somebody may have been messing with the wires trying to fix them. Caulking won’t consistently hold a connection, it may cause intermittent grounding.Bizarro world. Pulled the pickup and gently tugged on wires, lifting them up a bit to make sure nothing obvious. There wasn’t. Put it all back together and now have sound…
