Starbucks is burnt tasting on purpose. They over-roast it like that for the same reason that every McDonald's hamburger you ever encounter will taste exactly like the same grade of Firestone snow tire material. They went for complete consistency over all else. When I'm on the road somewhere for work, I'll go into Starbucks because I know exactly what it will be and how fast I'll get it. Plus wifi. It requires absolutely no thought. Going into a local coffee shop can be a little more hit or miss, with the hits being far better and the misses being a little worse than Starbucks. Starbucks is also easy to find, because there's a brazillion of them.

Found another photo of a Pro IV control cavity. This one is a 2017 from Indonesia. Mine is a 2010 from China. Apparently, the one pot has no lid.

....on mine, from pov of the pic, the top left is Vol, bottom left is pickup blend, top right is treble, and bottom right is bass

I marked them when I took them out for the shielding, so I could keep track of which was what going back in.....

Thanks. Considering I did everything except for paint prep & paint, it turned out pretty well. But the level of detail in car restorations has gone up a lot since the 90s when I did my ghia.
Part of it is availability of body panels. I had to fabricate a lot of parts. If I started 10 years later I could have bought many of them.

Irv, you are truly amazing. I know one thing you can't do. Make me a better bass player!
Well, I'm certain you could do that as well. It's a pretty low bar to start from.

Rebuilding Beat Street;



Will probably come up with a different name but for now the only two original members are Kip (guitarist to the left playing the white Tele) and myself....recruited old drummer I used to gig with Andy Cornwall and are trying out Claire Valory (Ross' niece) tonight at SCRehearsalStudios........Doing Heaven 17, We got the Beat, Stop Dragging and on and on.....this gal can SING....stoked!...

Living in Seattle means we don't have A/C. Never have. But it may be a good idea in time.

We live in a row house built in 1902. We have radiators for heat and window ac units for AC. The one in the kitchen is in place all year but the other 4 are installed in late spring and removed in the fall. This August has been quite mild; we turn off the AC when we can and open the windows.

My wife keeps pushing to have AC installed in the house. I'm sure it will be much more.

The new normal I suppose where you need AC in Vancouver. Calgary during the summer I understand. The few times I've been to Vancouver in the summer the weather was mild. The last time was around '08 though.

Listen to your wife. We bought the mountain house in '21. The prior owner installed central AC in '19. It's tied into the forced air heating system. It was a bonus since we'll be living up there full time within a few years. But we haven't had to run it much. Yet. Several places up there get by without AC. I don't think we could moving forward though. The house has a lot of west facing glass (to be tinted when I get around to getting it done) and it can get warm in the late afternoon. It also increases the salability of the place. The newer homes built within the last few years have it.

mine(second pic). The light blue 62 Beetle is my nephew's.
