To be serious, I'm not generally a fan of flipping. OTOH, I'm not generally a fan of collectors who corner the market. OTGH, I get it and it's not like he's trying to buy, say, all the 62-64 birds.
There is only one black one left if I’m not mistaken, and if he still has all of his, so it’s got to be the same one that’s been floating around.

I thought KingFace was in New York. So either he sold one, or he moved and is selling the one on Reverb, or one of them isn’t really a ‘79, or there are actually two out there in the wild.

I sure hope he's not selling 'em off, but if he is, that one appears to be the pick of the lot. I don't even want a black bass, don't want a bicentennial, and am not in the market. But, that one sure looks pretty good. Fortunately, I don't have that kind of uncommitted cash just lying around. It's not quite worth a kidney, although selling kidneys is reserved for Thunderbirds.

And then there is the mystery of Gibson production records and serial numbers. My EB-2 has a serial number that Gibson put there. But seems to be more or less meaningless as far as when it was made. This Thunderbird could be another example of that kind of Gibson shenanigan. As my brother says: I don't like numbers. There's too many of 'em.

It does look nice. But it’s offered at twice what I would even think about paying. And even then, I don’t think I’d buy it.
love how you reversed that bass…..thought about that arrangement for a long time (way before I knew about this hang) and actually got to see it done here
