Thunderbird Club

Thanks. Feel free to build one yourself. Here is a quick description of what to do. I used Baltic Birch, but it can be built with lower grade plywood or MDF for a lot less money.

Dropbox - Bass Case Rack.pdf - Simplify your life
Someday I'll clear out the garage and have the space for one of these for my cases. I'll have to adapt it slightly for guitar and bass simultaneously. Right now the wife likes the way everything looks hanging on the entry wall so the cases don't get much use. I grab either my mono bag or my inCase bag and take a bass (except for ol big blue, still need a bag for that one).

What's the word on the 2021 NR's? That one in the classifieds looks kinda cool to me
The necks are unlike (bigger) than any Thunderbird I've ever played. Doesn't feel like a Pbass either. Has it's own feel. Mine is well made other than a little roughness in the paint on a bottom edge. To me they lean more towards sounding more like the modern Thunderbird than a VP or an the original basses from the 60s, for a sonic reference. I'm glad I bought mine. I'm not sure I don't love the NR shape more than the Reverse visually, but the Reverse feels like it was made for me. I always wanted a NR but one from the 60s isn't likely to happen.

Gibson hit a home run with them. It would be a grand slam with a 60’s claw and bridge. Most are in the 8 1/2 pound range. Nice neck. Great Alnico pickups. The one still hanging in the classifieds is nicely priced but the seller won’t ship so you would need to have someone in New York pick it up and ship it. But for that, it would have been long gone by now.
