The tapped passive iteration of the Dicolas that are in my ‘15 are wonderful. Sounds like they really missed the boat using them in the Rex.

Funny, I have yet to listen to it. I’ve been a fan since Rid of Me, and I’d say that I like most every album she does, but the last new one I bought was the “Hope Six Demolition Project”, and I could not get into it. “Uh Huh Her” was another that just didn’t get me. “Stories from the City…” is a great record as is Rid of me and “Is This Desire”. “White Chalk” and “Let England Shake” are also very good.
The stuff she did with John Parish is really good too. I’ll have to start listening to the new one.

Right, but isn't what they do with the TB+ what they're saying they can't do with the Rex ones? Or are the plastic covers different materials?

Well I was assuming the TB+ were "cast" epoxy but if they are also plastic covers then yes, that's what they're saying they can't do with the Rexbuckers. Or the covers are different plastic but I'm yet to take out my TB+ set.
My Armstrong Pickups replacements look very glossy and like they could be the same construction as the TB+ but they are epoxy which is why I thought the originals might've been. Should be recording some sound demos of pickups very soon, buddy got busy so we've been delayed.

You can cut the plastic covers off of TB Plus pickups easily, the ones in these pics are from a Burny Thunderbird, but Gibson will peel as well.

I haven't messes much with my TB+'seses they are in a black hardware geetar, and I didn't see a need to change the covers.

I’m sure if you play at church in panties, a see through skirt, and topless with little hearts over your nips, you will get all the reputation you can stand! I’m sure V can give you makeup and hair tips, too.

I’ve only had a Flying V 6 string guitar. It needs a huge case. Mine had neck dive. But I liked it. Not really made to play sitting, but you can.

No, the info was direct from the Gibson UK rep, it's probably a different plastic - it's very hard and brittle, certainly wouldn't peel like in V's pictures, it would break off in shards. Probably had to use a different type to have the embossed effect gold-filled "RB" logos on them.

My tb+'s have the same type of plastic, but I doubt they come off that easily, it's been a couple years since I had them out but they were glued on, but I didn't try to persuade them off

The Gibson blurb states that the pickups are a result of a collaboration between Rex and Jim DeCola but they are not - they are the pickups from the EB Bass range that came out in the first half of the 2010s which is easy to tell as they still have the labels on them. They aren't dreadful pickups, but they're not a result of any collaboration with Rex Brown - and his RexBird has EMGs in it anyway.
Bigger problem is that they are not fixed into the pickup covers and are just floating about under them: the explanation from Gibson was that they can't pot them into the RB pickup casings as those are plastic and heat distorts and deforms them.
Also, it's purely down to luck whether you get a set that have been dipped in any wax or not - even if not fixed into covers wax potting would reduce the microphony - my one was completely unwaxed/unpotted to the point where I couldn't play above practise volume without so much finger/pick noise (from touching the covers) the bass was ungiggable.

I have one marked as an EB in my Les Paul Tribute (Doublecut). It's not potted and not microphonic. I put it into a chrome cover. It's basically just held in by pressure.
I also have a pair of the EB pickups that I bought last year, but haven't installed into anything yet. They will either go in my Epi IV or Explorer. Hopefully they aren't microphonic, but I guess I may have to dip them in wax. That's something I've read about, but never done.

Everything you said is without question true. I think demonstrating that everything true is not of necessity good advice.

It would also reduce attendance. Drastically.

My all time favorite female rocker performance is by the one & only - (note reasonable heals and how they don't prevent some pretty awesome moves)

Agreed. We saw her on the first tour for the debut album at the Santa Monica Civic. She made love to the audience during Brass In Pocket. She’s had me ever since.
