It's rare when anyone remarks on what I play, either an audience member or a bandmate. I usually only play my '66 J w/Bond Girl, but rotate a few w/TSC. Our new drummer likes my Teiscobird which I leave at our rehearsal space. A guy at one of our shows walked up and studied the hs (name) mid song, like - "what is that?". That's about the extent of someone showing interest.

I'm not sure I've heard Teiscobird, but love how it looks.

Personally, I've found that Js are like Strats in that they may take more work to sound good. For me anyway. But once they get figured out, they can sound amazing. Both Strats and Js can more easily not sound good than say a Pbass or some others. Could just be stupidity on my part.

I rarely get comments on the TBird's "looks", prolly 'cos it's sunburst. I do get comments/queries about the PG. The Embassy and the Ibanez AGB-200 get the most comments on color or finish. The Les Paul 5er used to get comments but it's been 'housebound' for awhile(needs a minor repair that's beyond my ability. Shop is a 90 mile round trip).

I take the bass that I most like to play that physically fits our available stage space. Whenever possible, like this Saturday-and last, that's the 67NR. I do like the Embassy-a lot-and it is a little shorter, which often determines whether I take it or the NR.
I normally use the Ibby for the community concert band as it tends to sound more upright-y, which fits the situation better.

Great video! l was surprised to see the bassist playing it fingerstyle. I play this one in my cover band and IMO it calls for pick.

Ya know, at the end of the day, I don’t care if ya play in the buff as long as you play good.
Every performer has their schtick, some more in your face than others, but as long as they deliver the goods (and she does) I can get past it.

In her case, she’s bangin hot sex on stage and makes me want to pull my Dano out of mothballs.

There's an idea! A Dano inspired Tbird!
Semi Hollow body, Formica front and rear, short scale, lipstick pups, a bridge crappier than a three point and banjo tuners. Maybe my next build!

Bigger problem is that they are not fixed into the pickup covers and are just floating about under them: the explanation from Gibson was that they can't pot them into the RB pickup casings as those are plastic and heat distorts and deforms them.
Also, it's purely down to luck whether you get a set that have been dipped in any wax or not - even if not fixed into covers wax potting would reduce the microphony - my one was completely unwaxed/unpotted to the point where I couldn't play above practise volume without so much finger/pick noise (from touching the covers) the bass was ungiggable.

Good info to know. My exposed pole 2013 EB and 2015 Tbird pickups are wax potted (IIRC, I’ll check to be sure) but just silicone glued into the black plastic covers. Not a bad sounding pickup at all, but not my favorite Tbird humbucker either.

Why short scale? My Dano is 34" scale and all the other low cost goodies.
