I don't fly, so going to CA is-at minimum-a 5 day trip(drive to NOLA, Sunset Limited to LA)and there just isn't anything I wanna do out there. I don't 'hate' CA, I'm simply quite content in FL.

The Gibson blurb states that the pickups are a result of a collaboration between Rex and Jim DeCola but they are not - they are the pickups from the EB Bass range that came out in the first half of the 2010s which is easy to tell as they still have the labels on them. They aren't dreadful pickups, but they're not a result of any collaboration with Rex Brown - and his RexBird has EMGs in it anyway.
Bigger problem is that they are not fixed into the pickup covers and are just floating about under them: the explanation from Gibson was that they can't pot them into the RB pickup casings as those are plastic and heat distorts and deforms them.
Also, it's purely down to luck whether you get a set that have been dipped in any wax or not - even if not fixed into covers wax potting would reduce the microphony - my one was completely unwaxed/unpotted to the point where I couldn't play above practise volume without so much finger/pick noise (from touching the covers) the bass was ungiggable.

Gibson are making crap up as you pot with epoxy and not molten plastic. The heat generated in the chemical reaction is negligible.

This is another example of Gibson’s dedication to cutting costs over quality.

I hear you. I used to enjoy flying - but no more. I actually hate everything about it and avoid it unless it's absolutely needed in an emergency situation.

And I feel the same way about CA - I personally feel I live in a sort of earthly paradise here in CA.., and I try to take advantage of it 24-7. I don't "hate" Florida either (I've been to Miami twice - many years ago related to a couple things) ... but otherwise.., I'll just leave it at that. (here)

Tell me 'bout it. Parts were s'posed to be in today(Friday);repaired manana. Now, even if parts show up tomorrow, I gots a gig I hafta leave by 1745 to be there to set up(1), my PA rig, and (B) my bass amp, mic, music stand, TBird, EB-0(backup), and CD player. Repair guy will prolly call at 1615 to tell me he's on his way. I'll hafta tell him "See ya Monday" and live with no fridge for 2 more days. Wheeeeee!

I'm in contact w/another tb member with fridge issues... sucks. We had to replace ours twice this year!

Ok you bloody enablers, I can get any one of these bass cabs for about the same price used and about the same condition.

Looking at just these four, which one would you choose if you wanted rich deep lows solid mids and a smooth top end, not looking for super punchy or crisp, just a nice non distorted fart free low end at relatively high in home volumes (much louder than bedroom volumes or typical practice volumes) in a big open room with lots of hard surfaces and a cathedral ceiling. Basses will be mostly Tbirds and mostly humbuckers.

I’d be powering it with a Musicman 150 watt hybrid amp that has a tube power section and SS preamp and can run at either 4 or 8 ohms. No plans at all for an extension cab. It will remain stationary in my living room so weight isn’t really a factor.

Can’t go wrong with any of those IMO.

That amp ought to sound pretty sweet. Were it me, I’d probably get whichever cab is 4 ohms since you don’t intend to add a second cab.

The Berg would be really tempting with the 112, 210 configuration. The GK and Epifani are classics. Tough choice.

Dedicated truck roads from the harbors to Amazon and similar distribution centers.Then driverless pods or drones to the final destination. I won’t be around by the time it’s an everyday reality.
