Thunderbird Club

Our Electronic Press Kit.....
EPK, gets you booked around here, easier than a demo tape!

Well done.* The only videos of the current group were shot by my brother-in-law on either his phone or the drummer's camcorder. No capability-or money-to edit them into something cohesive.

If anyone's interested, go on YT to "Driftwoods of Treasure Coast-Live", posted by John Kerrison(my BiL). There's ~17 full songs(we're playing for dancing so they're 'stretched'). I was using my since sold Epi EB-3L due to not wanting to take the 67NR on outdoor heat and humidity gigs.
We don't have a 'lead singer' as such since the 2 guitarists and I alternate singing lead and the drummer sings some harmonies.
Our "shtick" is wearing Hawai'ian shirts.

*I prefer rare to medium rare:smug:

For me - from Paint It Black through the early '70s.

I like the snappy drum pick-up into each verse (1:37-3:55 - unlike original) ... but I personally find Jaggers performance a bit embarrassing. It seems as if he's attempting to "do a Bowie" - without DB's theatrical/artistic panache. Also the "woman as props" aspect (5:04)... really distasteful IMO. Plus, the outro was so overblown and unnecessary - yikes... their excuse would be "it's live - let's pull out all he stops"... which kills a lot of live presentations. :rollno:

I was there with the Country band, with my Hard Rock, I'm looking for growl you can never quite tame. Just realized I had the deep switch on my SushiBox Slampegg, I'll try with it off before I look at Steels.
I’ve settled on steels after wandering in the dark. The SITs and Dunlop Marcus Miller Superbrights do it for my taste and ears.

When Bobby at Clark Music in Atlanta told me Nashville Straights had gone out of business, I bought the last dozen sets they had. I don’t recall how I got them home on my motorcycle; I’d just dropped in to get some picks.
They were my favorite. Expensive packaging may have been an issue. And you couldn’t keep a spare set in the case.

[Invalid or Expired Link Removed] anyone tried this? Considering this to upgrade my Epi VP

Yes, I put them in a 1997 Gibson in place of the TB+. They are awesome. I have a variety of “boutique” t-bird pickups in my other Gibson ‘birds and while the others (Lollar, and Curtis Novak, Thunderbucker 66) sound similar, the Gibsons sound different, I guess I’d say they are more “open”. If they made them with nickel covers I would have bought another set for the 1999 Gibson ‘bird I just got. For that I decided on a Dunable D-bird set. These should be different as well since these use ceramic magnets.

I know houseboat people but no boat bass players, let alone Thunderbird players.
You know me. :)

I admit that the best sounding to me where the Precision and the Thumb, but for the uninitiated such as myself, I was intrigued by the Thunderbird being played in a melodic way, and that it wasn’t played dark, dirty, and overdriven as with most T-Bird demos
I enjoyed the Bird most. I also was trying to figure out how they made the Jazz bass sound that awful. I have 2 and neither one sounds that bad :woot:
