We thought dimmers were bad. Now we have dimmers with LEDs…I used to work for an Electrical Contracting company and there was often leftover product available to us in the warehouse. I brought home some high powered LED fixtures and mounted them over my bench.
They are great - lots of white light.
But put a bass on the bench and plug it into an amp for troubleshooting? Yikes! Those fixtures (meant for a commercial environment) put out a LOT of noise.
^^ This. Smaller cap cuts less highs. If it works for you it works for you.what’s common is pretty irrelevant imho…if the controls do what you want them to do, you’re done….time to rock that Aria….

Simple, easy and effective! I personally use a set of micro grabbers and the various single pole filters but yours means the control cover can stay. I also have a set of standard orange caps with common values to clip in and try using the actual Bass/Guitar.

12yo Geoff used to rock out to this stuff. From my first self bought album Quo in 1974.

I did. I started bass at 12. I started playing guitar more when I was in college.
Just recalled this version of "The Man Who Sold the World" performed by Bowie on the Outside tour back in 1996. Utterly blows me away, with its haunting presentation graced with Gail Ann Dorsey's jazz-tinged accents.

I have Lollars in two of my ‘birds. One tuned E-standard and one tuned D-standard. I like them in both, not dark, not too bright and more clarity than the TB+ pickups that came in them originally.
I have a set of Dunable “D-bird” pickups coming this week. These are made with ceramic magnets. I’m hoping they are closer to the TB+ pickups, maybe a little dark but with some more punch. Maybe somewhere between the Gibson re-issues and the TB+.

Forgot to mention one more possible cover song- obviously I’m going to like the perky bass line in this Roxy Music take on The Byrds’ “Eight Miles High”.
