Heading from New Delhi to Agra (Taj)?

Family in Bangalore. Side trips to the beach in Goa. But they are moving this summer to Amman. If you live more than about 2/3 of your time over a 3 year period you have to pay 33% tax on your global income. Now, after 7+ years living there, the Indian government has become so corrupt that they try to stretch that 33% to all your global assets, which isn't the law. That makes living there full time just too big of a pain in the arse fighting with bureaucrats. So, move the family to Amman and then travel back and forth to run the business and make sure not to exceed the in country time limits. </rant>

P.S. if you need any tips or have questions, my son-in-law has traveled all through India. I can connect you if you need anything.
Do you have a Hindustan Ambassador to use while you are in India?

some of these new 7ender amps make for cool mod platforms…..one noise reduction mod and one output tube swap and you got a completely different amp…. cool thing is, reverting to stock takes less than a minute and requires no tools…

I’m no electrical engineer, and I don’t know about amp design, but changing the tubes and noise floor will do little to nothing in amp tone from my knowledge:

What were the original power tubes?

I’m no electrical engineer, and I don’t know about amp design, but changing the tubes and noise floor will do little to nothing in amp tone from my knowledge:

Can't say I've ever swapped different types of power tubes before, but I've spent more than my fair share of time b rolling preamp tubes and I can 100% tell you there is definitely a difference in them. Mostly in the gain structure that comes up. But I can tell you that I've heard differences in different 12ax7's, 12at7's, and 12au7's. When comparing the same types of tubes, the differences were slight but there.

BUT.... I conducted the very scientific test of putting good headphones on my 7 yr old daughter and splicing recordings of two tubes together so they played the same parts seamlessly. You could tell when each was playing by a different color on the track (one teal and one blue). I told her, "tell me if the teal and blue are the same sound or if they're different. There's no right or wrong it's just what it sounds like to you." Two bars per tube. By midway through measure 7 she was saying, "the blue is better. The blue is better for sure. I like it more."

When I stopped it I asked her why she liked the blue one. Her response was CLASSIC. "They were the same but the blue one made me feel different. Like that's where the magic happens. It just made me feel better. I didn't know."

She has no musical training whatsoever but she picked out the Raytheon 12ax7 made in Japan from 1970something over the brand new JJ 12AX7. I honestly didn't think she would hear any difference, but there it was.

I think we all suspected it, but Gibson finally has listed the Tbird Original as discontinued on their site. I really wish they'd do a 60's remake. I'd gladly pay up to $3k for one if done correctly.

Be patient Grasshopper, it may be in the cards. :D I have heard things.

Ask me no questions, and I'll tell you no lies!

that still sounds better than playing the riff……this is another one where many bassists play the guitar line…..many guitarists (this one included as you can see) get it wrong on the resolve going to the the 2 instead of the 4……Radle’s line sooo services this tune……

Radle was a killer player and an underrated one IMO.

Don't say this. Some people here will start thinking it's good idea.

I just joined the club finally!!!

bought of slight fixer-upper Greco single pickup bird on reverb. I’m so pumped!!!

it currently has a Bartolini pickup in it which I plan to replace with a more vintage nickel/chrome pickup. What do you all recommend?

also, anyone know what tbird pickguards for early 80’s Greco basses?
Congrats!
