Thunderbird Club

I thought we were always Very Serious around here. Must have read the sign on the door wrong.

My experience as well.

I used to change them every year, but it was pointless. Then I started using the batteries from the smoke detectors which get changed every year. There is likely 75% of life left in them.

G&L bonus: You can play them in passive if the battery dies or even falls out. Genius! Thank you Leo.

Like I said - Leo's last & best version. (Mr Best agrees!) I always liked the way the Interceptor looks - never played one though.

It's pretty easy if you get a Stew Mac fret-dressing kit. You get a few different metal fb guards (for thin, med or jumbo frets) and polishing pads. I only got the guards and a fret eraser. (looks just like an eraser for smoothing/polishing the surface after filing/steel-wooling. After your initial steel-wool polishing you only need to occasionally use the eraser. I do it whenever I notice the frets look dull. They sell a set but I only have one for polishing. If I want really shiny I use Nevr-Dull for the last step.

Interesting. I've not tried anything like Nevr-Dull before.

Interesting Brit overview on '70s Glam but they showed a teaser clip of Bowie/Ronson in the beginning and then didn't cover them. (!) Never heard of many of the bands/artists ... big in the UK but not so much the US I guess unless a hard-core Glam follower. Love the Roxy clip.

I know most of the bands, but the Elton John clip is fantastic, it's live, great to see Dee Murray on the bass, and Sparks was/is just too cool.

I figured you would know them. Yah, I like those two performances also. I watched a Sparks doc and couldn't get through the whole thing (it was long) - they had their moments (like in that footage) but I lost interest in their schtick after a while.

I never had a feel for how popular the Sparks were in other regions. They were pretty big for a while in their SoCal home. Especially around the time Kimono My House came out which is the album “This Town Ain’t..” is from.

I always thought this song from one of their later albums in the early eighties was fun. I had a huge crush on Jane.

That's why I ride the motorcycle. It's express lanes down and back from the house to the office. I got lucky that way and life is good.

I really wish they had put HOV lanes in instead of the toll lanes on MoPac. The toll lanes are "express" but if there's any real traffic they're also expensive - and often not much faster.
