Indeed. More on some basses than others it seems. My excuse is "busy." I'm playing too much. I clean the frets and fretboard every 2-3 times I change strings. It's the back of the neck that I find requires the most frequent cleaning.

Nice work!Cut a new vintage/aged-pearl pg for my Bass IV - took it to BG rehearsal tonight... sounded awesome! Debating whether to bring it on Saturday for the Golden Gate Park Bandshell gig...

Yes audiophiles make collecting guitars look affordable! They can drop some money!Same here - and I still have a very serviceable (meat & potatoes) audio system that produces a favorable music delivery to the space it's in. Regardless of my "components" I still am hearing them through my JBL Decade speakers - bought new in '76. re-coned in the late '90s by A. Brown Sound in San Rafael, CA who worked on the Grateful Dead's speakers. (they offered 'hemp' speaker cones) I have known high-end audiophiles in the past - nowhere near that level... and luckily so.
What about the Turbo Encabulator? No, you forgot the Parasitic oscillator. It's little and often overlooked. But leave that out and you have serious problems. Assuming you survive.![]()
That is a beauty!
Nice work!
Because we don't do search, here's the information now, and when it's time, ask again.Cool. My brother may move his over. It has been in their bedroom since they moved in around 2000. It’s a dark Burgandy. He plays guitar mostly now. I may hit you up for info if that happens and he’s up for the change.
Drum kit sparkle is far closer to metal flake than the Zzounds Epiphone sparkle. If they hadn't called it sparkle, I would have called it metal flake. While I would prefer a proper metalflake, those seem to be rare in the stringed instrument world. Sparkle is far more common.
I was going to refinish my VP. It went to a good home where it will be loved a lot more, so that's good. Other bass guitars will get colors. If the Thunderbird becomes available in the blue that apparently is now a Firebird color, my ‘17 Ebony first gen VP is toast.
I'm pretty sure the 2013 EB is going to be the next color change victim. I have been playing it a lot lately.well poopie, if I hadn’t gotten my KB-1 and EB4 and loved them so much I’d probably get both…. Thems nice.
Cheap and modern work around for the vintage Parasitic oscillator. What about the Turbo Encabulator?
turbo encabulator - Google Search
Nice bass, too. That is a beauty!
