Thunderbird Club

My drum kits are the kind of blue sparkle I like. Done right, a blue sparkle Thunderbird would match pretty well. That blue sparkle is too coarsely speckled. Metallic Green is a little too subtle, although it approaches iridescence and I like it a lot. And there's the sticky feel of poly on the neck and the fact that I just couldn't bond with what is apparently a really good playing 2017 VP.

I'll wait for Gibson to come up with a modern reissue in exotic colors. Or just spend the money on refinishing. The fretless is up and will probably get started in May. Then ...? Willy pulls frets and goes for colors. I'm restrained and just go for colors.

If Marshall wants a drum kit for his music room, I know exactly what color of wrap he will like and where to get it.

No idea without seeing the circuit. But they’re awful in audio paths.
hate to break it to you but there is nothing else…..nowhere will you find the required bulk capacitance to pass lower frequencies as you will in an electrolytic…one of my beefs with 360s….alternatively you could use a transformer but at those audio power levels they can get bulky and expensive hence my preference for bipolar power supplies…..

Not at all! We also do pathetic attempts at humor.

My first wife was bipolar, that didn’t work so well for me. ;)

This discussion about fretboard conditioning is humorous to me. I use the F1 about once a year or so to clean to them. Gunk always comes off when I do that. I don’t worry so much about them looking “moisturized.” When I got the ‘21 NR and took it to the ‘22 get together, I got comments about how dry the fb looked. I hadn’t cleaned it up before taking it. I play that bass a lot. And it, like all my basses, are never in their cases except when I transport them. I’m looking at it now as it’s hanging above the computer monitor where I work. It still looks dry. Even though I’ve cleaned it a couple times since that summer. I need to polish the frets; I probably haven’t ever done that to it before. I’ll likely give it a quick pass with my set of fret erasers tonight and do the F1 thing to arrest my OCD.
I rarely get gunk when I clean anything and I kind of have oily skin, certainly not dry.

I'm not in the market for a Stingray, but if I were... let's just say I'd try five again for this.

Ernie Ball Music Man StingRay Special 5 HH - Fuchsia Sparkle
I had a 5er SR HH. Kind of wish I would have kept it. Sounded good. I just didn't use the long thumb rest enough to justify it so it was sold to fund something else. I liked the tone better than the SR4--which isn't supposed to happen. It was even the first gen with ceramic pickups.

We haven’t discussed my first wife…………………
“Shudders”, we’re not going to!

Cool. My brother may move his over. It has been in their bedroom since they moved in around 2000. It’s a dark Burgandy. He plays guitar mostly now. I may hit you up for info if that happens and he’s up for the change.

AC coupling to output….remember, in a single ended supply fed amplifier (Class A, AB, B) the output will always be at Vcc/2…

Let me see if I have this straight... when coupling the thingamajig to the doohickey you have to remember to feed the single student with a supply of classes so E=Mc Hammer. Am I close?
