Oh man! I remember when most of the great audio equipment was made in Japan. Fisher was a flagship line with Macintosh, Sony, Pioneer, Panasonic...Some of those go for big $$$ on line like Ebay!
Looks like she's flat-lining on the O'scope!
I should’ve added Audio Receivers that I could afford! Yes B&O, Macintosh, Onkyo…I only saw them in showrooms and read about them in magazines!

That has Glam Rock written all over it! I really like it.

This discussion about fretboard conditioning is humorous to me. I use the F1 about once a year or so to clean to them. Gunk always comes off when I do that. I don’t worry so much about them looking “moisturized.” When I got the ‘21 NR and took it to the ‘22 get together, I got comments about how dry the fb looked. I hadn’t cleaned it up before taking it. I play that bass a lot. And it, like all my basses, are never in their cases except when I transport them. I’m looking at it now as it’s hanging above the computer monitor where I work. It still looks dry. Even though I’ve cleaned it a couple times since that summer. I need to polish the frets; I probably haven’t ever done that to it before. I’ll likely give it a quick pass with my set of fret erasers tonight and do the F1 thing to arrest my OCD.

The EB-2 has been oiled maybe twice in the 40+ years I have owned it. It looks fine to me, although it doesn't come out to play much any more. The hand written serial number and model notation on the f-hole label has completely disappeared in the time I have owned it. The serial number is still perfectly fine where it's stamped into the back of the headstock. I don't know why they did both, except ... Gibson.
So that when the h.s. flew off you'd know the serial#.

I never had a feel for how popular the Sparks were in other regions. They were pretty big for a while in their SoCal home. Especially around the time Kimono My House came out which is the album “This Town Ain’t..” is from.

I always thought this song from one of their later albums in the early eighties was fun. I had a huge crush on Jane.

Their early stuff (songs & image/performance) was spot-on .... at the right place at the right time. Very cute, fun and clever and '80s retro. It was a fun schtick but it wore thin after a while. Aside from that they wrote very catchy pop songs.

When I was way into reading about the Esoteric stuff I would never be able to afford it was MacIntosh, B&O and Onkyo.

Same here - and I still have a very serviceable (meat & potatoes) audio system that produces a favorable music delivery to the space it's in. Regardless of my "components" I still am hearing them through my JBL Decade speakers - bought new in '76. re-coned in the late '90s by A. Brown Sound in San Rafael, CA who worked on the Grateful Dead's speakers. (they offered 'hemp' speaker cones) I have known high-end audiophiles in the past - nowhere near that level... and luckily so.

Let me see if I have this straight... when coupling the thingamajig to the doohickey you have to remember to feed the single student with a supply of classes so E=Mc Hammer. Am I close?
No, you forgot the Parasitic oscillator. It's little and often overlooked. But leave that out and you have serious problems. Assuming you survive. :smug:

I showed the purple sparkle to Sharon. She said, “I don’t think you need a fifth bass.” I didn’t remind her I have five now. But I was already thinking about getting one re-painted in purple metalflake…
If you give one to me, let's say the Greco, you can tell Sharon you don't have that many and a good friend is letting you borrow a bass, let's say the Greco. Could be a real relationship saver. I don't mine.
