I have to admit...we have several Micro breweries around here that are so good I would take some of their craft for payment!But I'm guessing sometimes you would prefer to not get paid in beer.

I played a gig years ago and instead of drink tickets - they 'offered' a case of Red Strip in cans ... I think our drummer drank a couple. He was know to drink beers like that and always in cans.

Bond Girl shared the stage today at the Golden Gate Bandshell with The Jean Genies - a Bowie tribute band. We both did 2,45min sets under clear sunny, partially cloudy skies after back & forth sun/rain all week. They went on at noon (to 1:45) and we started about 2:15. A healthy enthusiastic crowd (hey - it was fee and outside) The lead singer Geoff of TJG was a real showman walking into the audience and getting lots of social-media attention. 2nd set was Ziggy Stardust songs complete with striped costume & red wig. Who doesn't love Bowie?
~Oops... my amp & bass at the back of the space - they said it was alright to stage it there...
Totally pro FOH - wireless mics for all - their saxman also took advantage of moving around off the stage... they had it down. I didn't get pics of the Ziggy set as we were sequestered in the green-room behind the stage.
Shot during their 1st song - more people showed up as the day evolved, the benches were filled later. Lots of pic's & vids - so I'll have some more to post when they filter in.

It's been at least 30 years since I tried it. I think its similar to Molson Canadian.
I'd much rather have a Guinness or an IPA.

We (Bond Girl) got $500 ($125@) today. Better than nothing, more than what we usually make. Nice people to work with, good exposure/social media coverage - good FOH sound - can't complain.
Other than... sometimes you run into a drunk A-hole in a club/tavern gig but we've been pretty lucky to avoid such... but today, some A-hole (who probably thought he was being very clever) spoke up as Cherie walked by during our break and said "you don't have a very good voice but you make due with it." ~!!!~ I'm glad I wasn't with her - I would have given him my 2cents in his face. Part of being free & "in public"...
