Thunderbird Club

probably because people think of the Ultra Low switch associated with SVTs….I don’t indulge with that setting, limits the dynamic range of the setup (mostly the enclosure) imho….
yeah, I think you may be onto something there. They can sound like rolling thunder, but don't have to. I never use the ultra low or high. Once in a great while for kicks at practice I might push it. Where I stand it doesn't turn to mud, but might 30ft away.

The update on the fire. Turns out LLNL was doing controlled burns but they claim the fire had nothing to do with them even though Cal Fire says that is exactly where the fire started. I smell insurance lawsuits...right Marshall?

The bad news is that the neighbor's dog kennel (massive structure), which is right on the property line (violated the set back rules) burned and created enough heat to melt our metal barn. It is brooding season and we had 100 baby chicks in the brooder tower inside the barn. :crying:

I guess we are lucky as 3 homes in the same area burned down.
Sucks in many ways.

Been on a Megadeth binge for a few days.
My sister bought their early albums in the late eighties but since I was a snobby kid into the old bands and diving dangerously into progressive rock I didn't really listen to the "modern metal" then even though many of the bands in the thrash metal genre were out 'n' out prog actually. I did make an exception with Voivod but that's another story.
Anyway, I've always liked their stuff but never really give them time until now. Especially the stuff they made with Nick Menza and Marty Friedman is brilliant and Peace Sells...is a classic for a reason. Great players and good songwriting.

It was definitely some eye-opening concerts! Alice Cooper (fake) chopping his head off the week before...Iggy Pop and the Stooges singing Raw Power while Iggy jumped off the stage into the crowd and then Bowie with his bright red hair and crooning his Space rock. Great times!
Once the flood gates opened all the bands tried to be more outrageous then the other. The good thing there was still some great music being written and performed under all of those crazy performances.
Alice Cooper was an experience as much as a concert.

I raised the pickups and put on a set of new Power Steels. I had to add some foam to the pickup cavities to get the pickups to feel solid. Liking the changes so far. Looking forward to seeing how the strings settle in.

Saw Alice live at a Welcome To My Nightmare tour in NYC.
Madison Square Garden.
Aynsley Dunbar, Steve Hunter, Dick Wagner, Prakash John.

I’ll just leave it at that.

EDIT: Pentti Glan on drums.

This was exactly Lou Reeds band from Rock-n-Roll Animal, at The Palladium.
Which I also attended.

You bet they are. There are local donuts I love, too, but nothing beats KK.

I used to enjoy eating donuts, but I'd have to chase eating one with a handful of TUMMS these days. As far as pastry goes - I like PEETS scones from ACME baking co here in SF. (baked, not fried)

FYI on the fire. The northern front is about 1 mile from the farm; however, it has been 1 mile since about 7pm PDT. So, looks like the wind is blowing north. Fortunately, it is just grass land so no big fuel sources. The fire started at Lawrence Livermore National Labs. Must have been one of those laser weapons again :wideyed:
