I play a selection of basses with TSC - no order, whichever one I grab for a gig ... all killer sounding, but my faves are my Teiscobird and the Coral Deluxe bass.

I has to admit(I think I have B4), I only need one bass.

I like having the backup/tight space bass(Epi EB-0), but I don't remember the last time I played it outta the house. The LPB2/5 never goes out anymore. (A) it's heavy, (2) I rarely need a low Eb/D). If I got to a gig and there wasn't space for the 67, I'd make space. It's more a case of bass preservation since it is irreplaceable. The Ibanez makes better 'noises' for concert band and/or big band, but the TBird has been played in both situations quite adequately. And the Epi Embassy is acceptable when I'd prefer not to put the 67NR in "harm's way".

I agree…we only need one of most things but we’re great consumers!
On a side Note: Do you like the sound and playability of your Embassy?

Very cool - as an art student at that time, I for sure dug that cover art and did a pen & ink version of it of my gf then. Musicians are always quoted saying their inspiration for being in a band was "birds" (girls)... but it was the same with artists. Doing a flattering drawing of your gf was "in like Flint".

A friend recently sent me a pencil drawing he retained that I did in '66 of Mark Lindsay (lead singer of Paul Revere & the Raiders) -

You have a nice eclectic set of Basses! I have fond memories of teisco basses and like the corral deluxe too.

Thanks - I have vintage Fenders & Gibson basses, but the rest are the vintage outliers from around the world. They are all so unique looking and sounding and if they end up to be great players... score!

Good evening folks. I hope all have had a good weekend. I had a gig that was a outdoor party thrown by one of the dancers we often work with. Several dancers, great food and drink, and Cat Herd/Safar all in the same place. It was great fun. As Safar, our set included Aziza, RompiRumeli, Shashkin, and Miserlou among others, as Cat Herd we played everything from Tomorrow Never Knows, to Ring of Fire, to Black Magic Woman.
It was quite warm when we started, but eventually cooled with the sunset. Kind words from the dancers and others, hopefully more gigs.
Hoping everyone had a good weekend.

I get all that Mike - it's very efficient/logical and stripped down to only play one favored bass for most every situation. For me as someone in the guitar-world biz/universe, having more than one to choose from is course/normal. (as in - no biggy) Having more allows choice/discretion of use, and allows comparing/contrasting/weighing of what works best for specific needs. (live/rehearsal/recording etc) The age old "desert island" question (especially on tb) is "if only one bass - which would it be" ... sadly for this thread, I'm afraid it wouldn't be my '64 II. I'll just leave it at that. The thing to remember is that I have a number of basses of the same level of it. Also, I'm a hands-down dyed-in-the-wool T-bird player, (since the early '70s). But as a bass player today - I know what I need to play/hear and have other basses that specifically satisfy that need. (yes, there are other basses than a T-bird...)

They pop up from time to time. I saw one in a shop once years ago. I don't have an engineering degree so it had too many controls for me. I've never seen one that bad. Most are are in really good shape.

Just want some confirmation from other Epi Tbird 60s/vintage pro owners, is the truss rod dual action? I am replacing the nut and went to loosen truss rod all the way and found it seemed to begin tightening again. I would have thought that this bass would just have the standard single action.

Update: I contacted Epiphone and they are dual action truss rods.

On a side Note: Do you like the sound and playability of your Embassy?

Sound, yes; playability, the neck is just enuff different from the 67 NR that a long gig bothers my left thumb. I don't think it's arthritis; more like I've pulled something. Not nearly as uncomfortable as the Squier VM Jag's neck profile was, but I'm aware I've been holding something that feels different by the end of the night.

They are usually super heavy but sound great.
Looks like the neck has been refinished and that nut is not original.
The way that finish is peeling looks like water damage. How much are they asking?
edit: Just looking in the Gibson Bass book and the Triumph had a bound peghead with the big diamond. Given the condition of the body, the headstock faceplate looks to have been replaced with a simpler one.
And do the electronics work?
It may be a nice player, but it's not worth collector money.

It was low 90s when I headed to Winter’s and it was almost 30 degrees cooler when I arrived.

those temp deltas are almost exclusive to CA……I couldn’t grasp it when my dad talked about it when living in FL..

We almost never run our A/C. It would take 3 days of 110, which usually comes with stagnant nighttime air. We have southwest facing trees and skylights that open. Get that 55 degree air pouring in overnight and then shut everything down for the day. Nice passive cooling. Downside is you have to wear a sweater inside during the winter.
